Don't forget Dolis, who seems to be a lock for high leverage no matter how badly he performs.

Well, at least I am happily proven wrong on this occasion. Go figure. 6.33 era, 17 BB in 21 innings and it finally dawned on Montoyo.

But not before he burned a high leverage guy like Mayza in a 10-2 game

On other bps, Mayza would not be a high leverage reliever which shows you what I think of his performance this year. On this bp, he is. Ah well, at least he was used on only one batter.

Solid start from Ryu, but he got away with a lot because it's the Orioles. Hopefully he comes back sharper in the second half.

How much does Jansen help Ryu? I'm curious.

His first 3 starts with Reese were fine, but his last 2 were on the weak side.

I don't think it matters as much as some people think it does. They're comparable catchers defensively and we've seen that Ryu will shake off signs from any catcher to get the pitch he wants. It's up to the pitcher to locate his pitches.

Whether they keep Jansen or Reese as the backup it's really not a needle mover either way, but if they do keep Jansen I hope it's not for his 'Ryu Whisperer' label. We suffered through that already with Josh Thole.

Gosh it would be nice if we could get our offense and defence to coordinate on when they're going to be on.

I wish we can play the Orioles the rest of the year (LOL). I cannot remember a more pathetic franchise than the Orioles. They were terrible from 1998 to 2011, and after a few good seasons under Buck Showalter, have been god awful the last 5 years. It has gotten so bad, that the Orioles twitter page does not post final scores most of the time. I hope Atkins/Shapiro can add another high leverage reliever before the deadline.

Staff ace Alek Manoah (2.70 ERA, 10.6 K/9) against Dillon Tate (4.29 ERA, 7.9 K/9).
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

The postponement isn't so bad. Means we won't have to watch Steven Matz again for a while.

Also means Manoah faces Tampa, which isn't the worst option. The Rays strike out more than anyone in baseball, and generating Ks is his stock in trade.
