i would say he is an all star....can be a superstar for sure...dude might not even be in his prime yet....

does not matter to me.....

at the end of the day the suns are 2 wins away...they have a very young team and still have plenty of time grow together....

i am taking the suns roster over any roster in the west moving forward....

booker/bridges/ayton are the young core the team built around...they are on the verge of bringing PHX a chip....

He isn't on Durant, Curry, Giannis, Leonard, Anthony Davis, James Harden, Luka, Embiid, Jokic, Lilliard, Tatum level.

He's outside the top 10. He's in the tier around #15 with guys like Chris Paul, Paul George, Beal, Jimmy Butler, healthy Klay Thompson, etc.

Winning a championship and coming back and being an efficient scorer and continuing to improve his game he can make his way into the top 10 eventually.

Booker is definitely better than Beal in my book. Book it

What makes a superstar? Stats? His stats aren't quite to that level yet.

Public perception? I think CP3 is kind of stealing that show.

Doesn't mean he is a bad player, he is certainly great, but CP3 has been and will continue to be the story.

This is going to be controversial when it shouldn't be but he has been the 3rd most valuable player on the Suns in these playoffs behind Ayton and CP3.

He is a clear star but still has a ways to go from being a superstar, people need to relax.

And to be fair to Booker he did get his nose broken which made him play worse for 3-4 games but still superstars are top 5-10 players. He might get there in a few years but not there yet imo.

Hes not a superstar but he is definitely top 20 maybe a case for top 15, hes improved his defense when it counts…. the playoffs. Low tier talent?

I am a Booker fan now and happy for his new found success but again still insist that I would never build a team around him. You need a transcendent/generational talent. He is basically a homeless man's Kobe without the athleticism, plus All-NBA defense and intangibles and a sporadic killer instinct

So teams can only be built around transcendent/generational talent? Not sure you're using those words right

I think the answer is that he's not quite a superstar yet, but he's clearly on the way to becoming one, especially if they win the finals. If they do, he has a decent shot of winning finals MVP. He's only 24 years old.

He's getting mad overrated real quick, not a superstar right now and probably will never get there, not a top 15 player, maybe not a top 20 player even imo.

Good player though, bona fide star, but he's clearly in the shadow of a 36 year old who's the most impactful player in that team by far.

I think Booker is at least a Top 20 player right now factoring in his bounce back in the postseason

So winning one award in a 7 or less games sample size jumps you 2-3 tiers of players?

No not necesarilly, but if you want to go far and become a legit title contender than yes. When was the last team who's best player wasn't a Top 15 player win a title. The Suns are here because of flawless roster construction by Exec of the Year James Jones, CP3's veteran leadership, floor generalship and force multiplier effect, great team D and superb coaching by Coach of the Year Monty Williams and of course a lot of luck and catching breaks at the times they most needed it. I don't see them being here the same time next season with the path of least resistance

If he had a legit case for regular season MVP and finished high in the vote count than he would have a case of being promoted at least several rungs up in "stardom tiers"

I didn't say that?

I said he is on his way to becoming a superstar but isn't one yet. I also said that he has a shot of winning a finals MVP at the age of 24. If he did win that award, it would certainly improve his resume.

Eh, CP3 is making Book & Co look better than they actually are. He's a great young player but not a superstar. He'll have to take over games, dominate at all times, and get the superstar calls before we can talk about him like this.

One of the most ignorant statements you have made and I have seen many of your statements on the Suns Board.

I am just not a Booker homer. He isn't a superstar or transcendent talent. He is in that tier above a star player and is somewhere between a Top 15 and Top 20 player and made the most of his limited skill set and overachieved adding new dimensions to his game. Let's not forgot how abysmal he was for the most of this regular season and we got the second seed in the West despite him regressing beyond the arc and from the line

I think he is an incredible third option on a title team who can contend for a scoring title any year but he has to at least become an average defender and regain his three point shooting form which is what made him great in the first place upon entering the league

Completely agree with this and appreciate your objectivity. I would say I'd be confident with him being the second scoring option on a contender even, not just third.

He's already a first option on a team that is 2 wins away from winning it all. He's been one of the better defenders in the playoffs this year. He has a better defensive rating according to the NBA.com advanced stats this post season than Lebron, AD, Patrick Beverly, Durant, Kawhi, Simmons, etc.

Come on.

I am relieved that Book is playing both ends of the court when we need him the most at the highest stage of the game but do you really think this defensive performance is replicable and he is comparable to those elite two-way players you are listing?

Didn't Monty bench him in the clutch just last night when the Suns were playing D lol?

No lol

He played 44 minutes and they had the game in the bag.
