Anyone care to summarize. I don/t have an hour and 43 minutes to burn listening to these clowns; especially for what I suspect would take 5 minutes to read if they wrote it in a reasonable format (not stream of consciousness).

I tried listening to it but it was so boring. Sounds like two introverts who just started off podcasting for the first time.

Ode2Oden is one of the founders of The Stepien, had a great draft podcast for years and worked for Philly.
But sure.

Decent writeup on Sengun
It's a good job that they actually said the Turkish League was one of the best leagues in Europe, and not the best, or second best or whatever like the nonsense in most articles.
However, I don't think they got the facts right about the MVP award winners in that league. As far as I know, this was the first season that the league had an MVP award. I don't believe it existed before this season. So the list of past league MVP winners doesn't make sense. Unless I am wrong on that, but I don't believe the BSL didn't have an MVP award before.
It was a quite detailed article though, so certainly much better than the crap that comes from major US sports media.

Re: Alperen Şengün
i agree that the last 4 MVP part is bulls.hit.
why ?
because one of the names given, bojan bogdanovic, left Turkish TBL more than 4 years ago. probably 6-7 years ago he was in TBL, not later than that.
still, even being disputable MVP title, what he achieved in Turkish TBL this year can not be underestimated.
his team was in play-off semifinals along with efes, fenerbahce, and karsiyaka. it wa the most modest team with the lowest budget among all, so he did not achieve those statistics in a relegating team.
it is safe to say that he carried his team all the way, right behind the euroleague powerhouses .

Whiteside’s listed at 7’0”…aren’t listed heights supposed to be in socks now? Did his not get updated, or has he grown an inch since he was measured at the combine?

He hasn't grown. He measured at 6'10.5" barefoot at the Combine. He was already 20 or 21 at the time. You can see by the shoulder height, Sengun is clearly 2-3 inches shorter functionally. There's just no debating it at this point.

I'd say he's somewhat similar in style, but he's developing at a much younger age. Radja didn't really have any pro success as a teenager, and didn't make it to the NBA until his mid-20's. Sengun at 18 is already a league MVP and a key fixture in the Turkish national team.
It was the different era where the European players didn't have an easy path to the NBA, teams didn't trust a lot to european players in 90's . Radja was the more talented offensive player than Sengun. He had better post up game, he was the better jump shooter , he had more range, he was the taller player as well. Sengun is the better passer than Radja, thats the only advantage he has over Radja. Radja's run with Boston is underrated.

By listed height/weight, (7’0 265) Whiteside was among the 10 biggest regular rotation players last year. I dunno why you’d insist on going by decade-old combine numbers instead of measurements from last season. Sengun will probably be listed at 6’10” 245, which is pretty typical for a modern center.

Remind me what Radja was doing at 18, again? If he was somehow more skilled than Sengun, he should’ve been dominating.

What does it matter if it's a "decade old"? He hasn't grown and most teams are lax about measuring their guys.
At any rate this is a far cry from the "He's really 7 feet!" I heard a few pages back.

Sengun's almost certainly 6'11" +/- half an inch in shoes...which again, is a very normal height for a center. Whiteside is a monster...he has more functional size/length than pretty much any other player in the NBA. I certainly believe he's 7'0" in socks, or very close to it. Sengun's smaller than Whiteside, but you can be smaller than Whiteside and still play center, lol.

Re: Alperen Şengün
Regardless of what Whiteside or Sengun measure at, he’s more than big enough to compete with him, obviously. He’s clearly not as tall as Whiteside, but he’s a big kid that can definitely go heads up with guys that side.

Yeah, you put it much more concisely than I did. If Sengun can hold his own physically against Whiteside, he's gonna do alright.

He'll get eaten alive by guys like Embiid & Joker. He's not starter material.

Embiid and Joker eat everyone alive. Also they are the same size as Whiteside. Since when did you have to be Whiteside size to play center and anything smaller was unplayable?
