Draft Thread Part 8: 4th pick !!!!

As each day passes I'm almost worried we don't pick up Suggs.

Knowing the Raptors and wanting 2 way players, I just don't see them passing on Suggs or Mobley if he becomes available.

Kuminga almost is a perfect fit for a modern day 3, can he put it all together though?

Suggs is literally a modern day PG and a leader who can work with anyone on our team and a perfect Lowry replacement + more.

I'm gonna keep plugging this guy. I hope we can get him in the second round or that he signs with us to bet on himself as a UDFA.
Really likeable and soft spoken kid. I think the 3pt shot and the shot blocking would play in the NBA now, but everything else he's gonna have to develop with the 905. This guy's 3 point shot is borderline unblockable though at 6'11 with a 7'8 wingspan and a high release.

That's still a 6th/7th seed in the East...

I think we are still a couple of big pieces away...but I guess it is a start.

Considering we’d be starting 3 guys 23 and under alongside two 27 year olds I think even a 6 seed is alright for us. We’re not going to be contending in the next season so any playoff experience we can get for the rookie would be good

I'm not complaining about getting #4 pick...but ya my ideal draft be to get a Green/Suggs. Mobley would fill an obvious need but to me he's less exciting...but I guess that's how Masai also likes it.

How come his college highlights don’t show this type of dunking vertical? He never jumped out of the gym once in any of his college highlights. Makes me wonder.

Gonzaga doesn't play with a lot of spacing because they have traditional bigmen. Suggs in highschool played with Chet and so he could attack the paint much easier because there was more room to operate. He'll be a lot more aggressive in the NBA where spacing is key.

edit: This situation above is a fast break so doesn't apply but I truly believe we didn't see highlights like that because he didn't get those situations in the halfcourt. In transition we have seen his oops and dunks even in college.

But Orlando isn't ready to compete, so who would they want from us? The guy who dropped 54 on them, plus a future pick? Or if Orlando is committed to Kuminga, then what would OKC want for #6?

I wouldn't bother trying to extract every little value out of the 4th pick trading down to 5 or 6. Orlando and OKC could be in same boat as Toronto just take whoever falls into their lap (look at it as top 6 draft).

I would to but its not realistic.

ORL will sit pretty with their 5 and 8 picks. Dont see them trading them, they need to accumulate talent now that they started the rebuild.

ORL would be asking OG and a future 1st pick just for the 5th. It wont happen.

If Mobley drops to us, I expect we grab him and run. Suggs to ORL, they aint passing on that kind of talent.

Damn I feel bad for Wagner. Getting drafted by Sacramento is almost as bad as getting drafted by Cleveland. Only thing better is that the weather is decent

He’s not saying to trade down to extract more value. He’s saying to try and acquire the #5 pick also so we come away with both Mobley and Suggs.

Unrealistic though, as Orlando won’t trade us the #5 pick, especially with Suggs on the board.
