We need to find a way to get that Orlando pick then and come away with Mobley & Suggs.

If that happens and Mobley AND Suggs drop to Toronto, I would move heaven and earth (i.e. trade anyone except OG) to acquire the #5 pick. I've fallen in love with Suggs, and drafting Mobley at #4 means that the next few years are development years anyway.

But Orlando isn't ready to compete, so who would they want from us? The guy who dropped 54 on them, plus a future pick? Or if Orlando is committed to Kuminga, then what would OKC want for #6?

I wouldn't bother trying to extract every little value out of the 4th pick trading down to 5 or 6. Orlando and OKC could be in same boat as Toronto just take whoever falls into their lap (look at it as top 6 draft).

Better to take the guy you want (Suggs/Mobley) and run

He’s not saying to trade down to extract more value. He’s saying to try and acquire the #5 pick also so we come away with both Mobley and Suggs.

Unrealistic though, as Orlando won’t trade us the #5 pick, especially with Suggs on the board.

Maybe a 3-way deal combining the Siakam rumor?

Wiggins + #5 to the Raptors.

Wiseman + #7 + #14 to Orlando.

Siakam + #47 to the Warriors.

Love this video, perhaps the best explanation of why Mobley flips the "you shouldn't draft a 5 at the top of the lottery" narrative on its head. I especially liked the detail on drop coverages and his perimeter defense and how that translates to the game right now.

Man I really hope either Suggs or Mobley is available at 4.

His creation and high iq plays out of the triple threat is something that is rare for a guy his size. He makes it look effortless and he's a quick decision maker. None of that JV holding on to the ball wasting his time doing nothing with it.

I hope we can at least make a deal with CLE and do a swap. It's worth giving up assets to get him imo.

Why would Cleveland even reach when they have Mobley and Suggs as options? In any case IF Cleveland wants Kuminga or Barnes they will simply trade their 3rd pick to the Magic for the 5th pick and additional assets.

In that scenario the Magic would then take Mobley with the 3rd pick. While Cleveland will get their guy 5th.

Cuz its Cleveland.

I dont think they take Mobley with Allen there. And they wont take Suggs with Garland and Sexton there.

If they dont make any deals, they'll go with their major need of a wing and add it to their core. I think both Kuminga and Barnes are high on their list.

I also think Masai/Mobley's camp could forced their way to Toronto. It happens every year.

In any case Cleveland would definitely trade down to Orlando’s pick in such a scenario. Since in this situation both teams would simply be trading places. Like the Luke and Trae trade.

In reality though I don’t see the Cavs not taking Mobley because of Allen. That would be stupid. I could see a situation where they might fall in love with Suggs and look to trade Sexton and so Mobley would drop to the raptors anyways.

I personally hope we get Suggs.

Hope we get Suggs because as much as I love Mobley, a future where FVV is our floor general for the next 5 years sounds frightening lol.

No offence to FVV.

I'm officially on the Suggs bandwagon and want him more than Green and Mobley. This guy has "it"

There are similarities between his Basketball and Football game. His speed, strength and explosiveness are something else.

If you make a deal w the Cavs then Houston is still a wild card despite some thinking Green is going second. I think Mobley is going second and any team would be foolish not to draft him there.

Suggs is going to need a better centre than on his football team. Nightmare of errant snaps and broken plays. He looked poised out there but his passes look like Duck hunting. His running was exceptional. Being a QB and a point guard in terms of leading a team is a big plus. Great athlete.

that backfoot throw across his body @ 2:20 is simply ridiculous. not only to have that arm strength but the accuracy too. Basically he's like a Mahomes that decided to play basketball instead of football.

mahomes can play too btw

I have a big laugh whenever someone around here says Suggs has a lower ceiling than any of those other guys in the top 4. He's got another level to reach just like Green and Mobley do.

He's physically gifted but not in the same way Green might be. Take a look at those football highlight videos and Suggs just oozes athleticism. He's also got great footwork, foot speed and because he played QB...he's got that twitch reaction/decision making.

And ya...give him more time to dedicate to basketball alone...he'll be a much better shooter and make even better reads as a lead guard.

Trades like this dont happen too often. Cleveland imo is not selecting Mobley with Allen there. Stupid sure, but there's always some need when selecting this high. Add to the fact they are in a desperate need of a wing, they could very well reach for Kuminga/Barnes.

CLE in my mind arent gonna get messy and start dealing their young guys to make room for Suggs

Sorry but I kinda laugh when I read "hope Suggs falls to us" etc lol when the VAST majority of mocks have him at 4th and if anything question if we pass on him for Barnes or Kuminga lol

The almost consensus at this point is its Cade #1 with a possibility of Green going 1st...then Green going 2nd with a possibility of Mobley going 2nd but very few see Suggs leapfrogging any of those guys to the point that some are saying he's not in their tier but in his own below but ahead of the rest.

The only "hope of someone falling" is Mobley (period). Green will not fall to us and it's more of a prayer than anything that CLE reaches on a SF or decides to take Suggs to replace Sexton (although they likely would just push Okoro to SG). Every rumor so far says they're taking Mobley unless Green fell to them. Haven't read anything about them actually wanting Suggs, that's more so a story a lot of us are telling ourselves with the hope Mobley falls in our lap.

Right now I'd say it's like 90+% chance Suggs is there and again if anything I'm wondering if they are in fact heavily considering Barnes who has much of the same strengths & weaknesses but is 6'9 with a 7'3 wingspan. Both guys need to improve their shot and half court offense, it's arguable that Barnes' ceiling is higher if he reaches his potential and as a franchise that has molded similarly raw prospects like OG and Pascal (and Scottie arguably is coming in THE least raw despite being the youngest), it actually wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if we're the ones who actually "reach" on him or Kuminga but I'm VERY confident Suggs will be there...and I'll be praying Mobley falls and that we do start hearing anything that it might happen.
