All 3 Nigerian Heaters did well tonight and all will be seeing their stocks rise!

Looking for KZ & Precious to have good Olympic showings and up their value. If we can’t start to actually get them PT to develop, then hopefully we can get some value from them.

With Precious, all I’m looking for is a willingness to shoot. I don’t even need to see makes right now, I just want to see him step into jump shots with no hesitation.

It’s pretty clear that Precious becoming a shooting threat is the only way he’ll play with Bam, if that is indeed the end goal. He may well be trade fodder, but right now, he’s a Heat player and we need him to develop to play with our best players.

KZ I want to start seeing some makes though. He’s had more time to develop and season. I want to see some real NBA level skills, whether he just becomes a defensive menace or manages to figure it all out. Show me something.

The issue with KZ is that he had no summer league, no G-League and no minutes this year. For Mike Brown to be that openly gushing about his D and speaking his praise there’s something there. Yes the O needs to come along, but he needs some time (like Thybulle) to work through how to be functional in an NBA offence.

As for Precious: he’s possibly on a similar trajectory to Bam. His minutes this year we’re similar to Bam’s first year. With a good Olympics, a full offseason, Summer League and some G-League time (if needed), he’ll show more next year. Hopefully he shows enough at the Olympics to make Spo want to see more.

Not sure if the coach for Nigeria is on a different NBA team, but if not the Heat should hire him. Clearly the guy has an ability to game plan that at the very least would give Spo some outside the Spo-box perspective.

KZ 0 points 2 rebounds 20 min

Precious 3 points 7 rebounds 16 min

Nigeria won the game sure but let’s not get too excited about these two. Precious still bricking FT’s but did make a nice 3. KZ has great length on defense but is clueless on offense. Best we can ask for here is Nigeria keeps winning and people don’t look at the box scores so trade values go up. Gabe Vincent did his thing but he’a still a small two guard who’s as inconsistent as they come. We have seen him go off like this before and follow it up with 10 awful games in a row. He’s a jag end of the bench guard.

For those that missed the game all the highlights. Every one of our guys accounted for Precious, Gabe, Bam all had highlights except KZ Okpala really had no highlights.

Honestly Nigeria had some dynamic guard play and plenty of movement that USA was not expecting. TBH most of the "stars" in our league esp at guard play no defense and they couldn't even contain the Nigerian guards. TBH most NBA players are bad at defense. They dont have Wade and Vince Carter to bail them out they better fix that.

I doubt Lillard watched Bam cheesing and posing with his Heat teammates (who just beat them) right after the game and thought to himself “thats who I need to team up with”.

It's not even about that, it's more about skillsets.

Bam has yet to prove he's a bona fide playoff time legit star.

He's still not a guy you can count on to rise for the big moments, take a game or a key stretch over, to demand the ball and make plays, to be aggressive when things get hard.

Right now he's a proven good versatile player with a limited offensive game, more of a Draymond Green - superb role player that needs legit offensive stars next to him.

He's young and growing, so hopefully he can prove to be more then that in the next couple of years. Untill then, I don't see any legit win-now star demanding to come play with Bam.

Look at KZ height then look at his shoulder diff between Gabe yet his fingers still longer. Amazing. Give this man minutes so he can figure it out. Give him just one year with a full green light and if still nothing then at least we tried.

He sucks. Looks completely lost on offense yet again against an Argentina team he should be lighting up. Awkward as hell with the ball in his hands. It was nice he made his reverse layup after Achuiwa spoon fed him that basket.

Mike Brown allowing Achuiwa to play free and the results are showing. Good for Precious. He definitely should be playing with Bam. Shame on Spo for not even giving it a chance during the regular season.

I think I read Achiuwa had 12 and 7 today vs Argentina. I saw he cashed another triple too. Looks comfortable shooting the ball, it’s a good looking stroke. Wondering why he struggles so bad at the line. Must be all mental because there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with his J.

Hope Spo is watching this and will keep an open mind in training camp. He should be encouraging Precious to use his gifts, not just “simplify the game” for him. Let the kid play on instinct, learn, make mistakes. It’s the only way he will improve.
