Embiid is 1a not only because the way the team was built but also the attention he creates and his overall dominance. I think its pretty obvious if he can slide down a spot offensively, the sixers would be even more dangerous. Him having to consistently create his own shot with no other perimeter threat is more of a hinderance than him being the first option.

It’s like what the Spurs have run before.
You can’t primarily run the offense with Embiid then kick it out to the guys you mentioned when offense stalls.
This is also one of my points where I said Blazers would have run it better with LMA, if Blazers had let Dame and CJ run the offense and let LMA be their outlet rather than running the offense primarily with LMA.
I hope you get what I mean.
The reason why I specifically mentioned his style and 1A is let’s say you have Doncic or Trae as 1A, you dont necessarily need someone as good as the guy you mentioned. Because the multitudes of options that the PnR can generate is almost always (not saying its 100% always) there.
LMA wouldnt allow that imo he was so worried about his counting stats that the Spurs had to convince him in their meetings in 2015 how he was going to average 20ppg with them lol.
Embiid loves his 35%+ usage rate on offense. Only Harden and Westbrook have higher usage in the past 3 years. He is a ball hog and ball stopper who loves having high usage to get his stats.
Just do a quick google search about Embiid complaining about his offensive role every time we tried to change our playstles. He compalined about his role after Jimmy trade. He complained about his role after Horford signing. He loves to complain even with such a high usage in his career.
You really think he will willingly take a step back? I dont think so.

The only time I have heard Embiid complain about his role is when they have tried to squeeze him next to a big. Or have him out on the peremiter. Thats common since. He was upset about them trading his fav. teammate in Butler and than trying to squeeze al horford next to him after trying to fit jahlil okafor next to him earlier in his career. These things compounded by the fact that he has had to play with a non-shooting PG all his career so far. God forbid he has a couple gripes about his role. I have no reason to believe he wouldnt defer if it makes the team better.
Now what else are you surely going to pull out of your a**???

Exactly. It will also make his life easier.
IMO down the stretch we dig deep for offense and went for JJ in 2018, Jimmy in 2019, mix of Milton-tobi in 2020, and seth in 2021. I think he’s OK with that.

You don't know what you are talking about. Embiid clearly complained avout his role pre Horford when we traded for Jimmy Butler since his precious usage went down a little and he was asked to sacrifice a little for the betterment of the team.

Embiid has always been a selfish player who cares more avout his stats than team success.
We were 8-2 with Jimmy prior to his complaining.

Re: Joel Embiid
Embiid complained about being a stretch 5, not his usage, a big difference. Embiid wants to be a post player, or at the very least operate closer to the basket, even if he faces up most of the time instead of being a back to the basket player. What Embiid doesn't like is having to camp outside the 3pt line because our spoiled brat won't shoot.
I agree Embiid having reduced usage is a benefit, because he will be able to defend better.

Embiid can do the same exact stuff he does right now (the good and the bad) and we have Donovan Mitchell, Shai Alexander, Brandon Ingram, or DeAaron Fox and there would be no issues, IMO.
Yes, that’s why in my last post, I referred to “his style as 1A”
Whereas when you have a Mitchell, SGA, or the other guys you mentioned, you can expect the offense to be run primarily with those guys and play the 1A role and dump the ball to embiid when offense stalls.
When we get an elite shot creator, Biid has to slide to 1B.

Embiid was fine with Butler taking the lead role in the playoffs and if they had gotten Harden or if they get Lillard it would probably be the same. Not sure why you're preemptively assuming otherwise (if that's indeed the point you are trying to make, I'm not sure). In fact I think he would gladly welcome it at this point.

I can't tell at this point if you are trolling or just 12 years old or something but I'm not sure why anyone is responding to you in a serious way. Either way you're reaching the end of your rope.

Point out Embiids flaws and get banned got it.
Glad we are promoting discussion on this board.
Should just rename it the Embiid board if we cannot ask for him to be traded instead of handing him a franchise crippling supermax.
Do I get an apology once Morey actually trades him this summer?

Pretty much my sentiment. Except I think we need someone who can make Embiid slide into 1B on offense.
The issue why Embiid wear down is because of physical and its almost impossible to anchor both offense and defense.
Its non negotiable that Embiid has to be injury free and peak stamina in the playoffs, where he has to step out, switch and close out on defense because all teams will be playing a lot more pick and roll next year if you look at the numbers the frequency of pick and rolls has increased at an historic rate.

Why haven't we got any news on:
a) whether Embiid is getting surgery on his meniscus
b) how the supermax duscussions are going between team and player
Our media is so bad that not a single reporter asked Embiid or Morey about the supermax in their exit inteeviews.
