Suggs is the hero we've been waiting for.

Wade has 6" longer wingspan than gator arm Suggs. Suggs will be good, but he won't be anywhere close to D Wade.

I'm not comparing the two players, I'm comparing the situation.

4th pick. A stud big-man and a guard that's rated slightly lower than the other top prospects.

Mobley looks amazing, but long-term I think Suggs ends up the better pro.

Name me a star NBA player currently in the league with gator arms. I can't honestly think of any, so for me Suggs will be good, but he won't be a superstar due to his length issues.

On paper Mobley would appear to be the best fit. FVV/GTJ/OG/Siakam/Mobley. I will be happy with any of the presumed top 4 guys. I am just hoping the Raptors do not make a surprise pick here.

Jimmy Butler. Steph Curry. Chris Paul.

That's just off the top of my head.

CP3 is 6'0 with a 6'5" wingspan. He's actually very long in comparison to his height. Suggs is 6' 4" with a 6' 5" wingspan.

Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, which makes up for wingspan. Butler is a good example, but even he has a 6' 7" wingspan.

Funny how a person's wingspan is the determining factor in a comparison ... lol please.

Suggs has more Roy in him than anyone .. just needs to work on his shot and thats the best comp for him
Nah, not much like Roy. Cade is more like Roy, but obviously bigger. Suggs is way more athletic though and plays more off instincts, not reading the D like Cade as of yet. So I think he has a higher ceiling than most ppl think. Especially with his elite court vision

Cade is nothing like Roy. Cade reminds me too much of Grant Hill with a shot.

Suggs and Roy have a lot of similarities. Body type, creating of the dribble, p and r, transition buckets
Yes he is like Grant Hill, especially with his iso moves. Roy and Suggs have similar body types yes but Roy was much smarter, had way more moves/counters and was a way better finisher. Also played with pace a lot like Cade. Suggs does seem to have that clutch gene like Roy though.

It's gonna be 70% Suggs and 30% Mobley. I think Cavs will take Mobley at 3 if Green is gone. Cavs fans think Mobley can play the 4 and him and Allen could form a new age Twin Towers.

Butler is 6’7” with a 6’8” wingspan. So basically by ratio, it’s even worse than Suggs. And yet he’s an elite defender

Yes I agreed Butler was the exception here. Still, as you can tell the list is extremely limited and it appears to effect these players more on the defensive end than anywhere else. Slightly concerning when you're looking for a star at #4.

Bruno = per inch wingspan biggest bust ever

Gee.. I wonder if wingspan doesnt have anything to do with it?

With Sexton apparently "very available", and Green apparently getting a promise, it's looking more possible that we could land Mobley here. I'm loving the anticipation of being in the top 4 of a big 4 player draft!

Yeah, getting #1 would have been boring.

Meanwhile, this thread goes on and on, even tho' we really don't have anything to talk about.

Monta Ellis doesn't play in the league anymore so he doesn't qualify. Sabonis, Hayward and Griffin are good examples of solid offensive players, but they are terrible on the defensive end partly due to their physical limitations ie small wingspan.

Randle ftr stand 6'8" and has a 7' wingspan. He doesn't qualify as someone with "gator arms" or small wingspan.

I don’t see why Monta doesn’t qualify just cause he doesn’t play anymore. He was still an effective NBA player not long ago

Hayward isn’t a bad defender btw

And defense isn’t really a concern with Suggs so it’s kind of a pointless argument

Btw Kyle also has a short wingspan and is a great defender and the Groat

My question was about current NBA players, which I made clear. Lowry again like CP3 has a large wingspan relative to his height also has some pretty large hands which is beneficial.

Kyle has a 6’2” wingspan and is 6’. Not really much different from the ratio that Suggs has. And without looking at ratios, Suggs is gonna play the same position as Lowry and has 3 inches more than Lowry. I really don’t see any reason why Suggs wingspan should cause him issues defensively

He’s proven to be a good defender anyways so why doubt it now just based on wingspan when the actual sample of games show he’s a good defensive player

It’s more of pushing an agenda imo
