S/o Jayson Tatum lol.
Dude went from 6’8 to a legit 6’10 after his rookie year

The basketball gods favour him

Hayward isn’t a bad defender btw
And defense isn’t really a concern with Suggs so it’s kind of a pointless argument
Btw Kyle also has a short wingspan and is a great defender and the Groat
My question was about current NBA players, which I made clear. Lowry again like CP3 has a large wingspan relative to his height also has some pretty large hands which is beneficial.
Kyle has a 6’2” wingspan and is 6’. Not really much different from the ratio that Suggs has. And without looking at ratios, Suggs is gonna play the same position as Lowry and has 3 inches more than Lowry. I really don’t see any reason why Suggs wingspan should cause him issues defensively
He’s proven to be a good defender anyways so why doubt it now just based on wingspan when the actual sample of games show he’s a good defensive player
It’s more of pushing an agenda imo

CP3 is 6'0 with a 6'5" wingspan. He's actually very long in comparison to his height. Suggs is 6' 4" with a 6' 5" wingspan.
Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, which makes up for wingspan. Butler is a good example, but even he has a 6' 7" wingspan.
Chris Paul has a 6'4" wingspan, not 6"5", Suggs is 3 inches taller and has a 1" better wingspan. And while we're throwing around numbers, Suggs has an 8'3" standing reach while Chris Paul's is 7'9".

Yes I agreed Butler was the exception here. Still, as you can tell the list is extremely limited and it appears to effect these players more on the defensive end than anywhere else. Slightly concerning when you're looking for a star at #4.
You asked for examples. People have you examples. Now you add some other rationale about Butler being an exception and Curry being a shooter. Wingspan does not make a player. Maybe if he was undersized at this position, it’d be a bigger deal. He has great size and athleticism for a PG, and you’re nitpicking about his +1 wingspan.

His wingspan relative to height might not be the greatest but does it really matter when he’s looking like a 6’4 PG? It’s not like he’s 6’ with a 6’1 wingspan. He’s already got solid size for the position.

Shorter wingspan relative to height means he won't be able to handle the ball as well as a longer player that can dribble low to the ground without having to even bend over. Big factor for a point guard.

Tons of dudes there with not the craziest wingspans. If they grew it doesn't matter much since they t rex arm players according to TD

get the good numbers from draft express he says... they even say he's not that long... you will never get 100% accurate numbers anyways. doesn't change the fact you're wrong about your wingspan comment. I think it matters more for the wings and bigman for sure not so much the guards
