Thybulle hitting off the dribble 3's. Does Simmons need a lift to the airport?

Bring Ingles and Mills (and Draymond) to Philly

This game should have been paradise for Sixers fans. Beal, Tatum and Lavine chuck-fest.

Team USA looks terrible. A bunch of dudes that are used to getting up 20+ shots a game just watching KD take shots.

Yikes. 0-2. Are we sure we want to trade for Dame or Beal? Seems like every team they are on loses.

USA can't stop anyone on the perimeter, and I can't imagine the interior/post D is going to be much better vs some euro centers

Just read on the General Board that Kevin Durrant has asked to be traded to Australia.

No doubt USA team is more talented and still very likely win the whole thing but there’s also no doubt that competition has gotten better and NBA players are adjusting to more physical type of play.

NBA usually goes into their version of “quantitative easing” with how they call the games when GOAT level guys like MJ or LeBron is on their way to oblivion, this artificially pump up players’ talent to make them look better than what they really are to fill the void.

When will NBA will ask censorship on social media for criticisms on how the calls are made in their league?

They wouldnt want people to continue shouting that the emperor isnt wearing any clothes

NBA is manufactured end of story. It’s a business at the end of the day. It’s not the first nor the last world sport to be like that either.

Look at what happens when your square the ledger between offense/defense and actually let them play?

The gap right now between the two is so diluted it’s not basketball at all.

Games are made to be broken it’s up to the governing bodies to fix it not actually promote and push that brokenness, it’s not a game then just manufacturing or a fabrication of one.

The NBA is in a similar position to cricket

The media, who provides most of the revenue via rights, decided that the paying public wanted more runs & big hitting so the authorities left the bowlers defenceless

The media has decided that the average punter wants points and the NBA has complied by making defence incredibly difficult to play

The result is that some pretty average players are putting up big numbers in both sports and get exposed when not everything is not in their favour

Yep bigger bats, smaller grounds, twenty twenty bugs bunny ball it’s not real just manufactured.

Test is still the great equalizer though the way the game is played it favors the batting.

It doesn’t help that bowling is very much generational talent laden.

Even in tests ATG bowlers would have a field day against this batting class worldwide.

Ambrose, Akram, Younis, McGrath, Donald, Pollock, Warne/Murali of the 90’s made a mockery of batting lineups.

Then Khan, Marshall, Hadley, Lillee etc etc.

Hence why I always put Sachin and Lara over Ponting (Ponting was massively dominant 20002006 not in the 90’s).

Legit 1000+ wickets at sub 22 from fast bowlers all retired within a couple of years apart then batting took a noticeable uptick (9+ averaged 50+ in the 2000’s).

Last great ATG fast bowler was Steyn, there’s potential others of course but fast bowlers are as rare as hen’s teeth and get injured regularly. Shame about Rabada, Harris. Cummins is finally putting games together

Shane Bond used to scare the living heck out of me whenever we versed NZ in one dayers. Man he had everything you want from a fast bowler.

Cricket is high quality for Test matches so it’s still kept it’s traditional albeit modern styled approach to the game, but as mentioned earlier it can be very talent dependent.

But yes your right the rules and manufacturing nowadays make players better then what they seem to be.

I mean Stokes is class but Botham is far superior to me watching him. But the stats seems to think otherwise....

Fwiw I play cricket all my life (most out of any sports by a mile). It’s easily the hardest sport for me to get any type of consistency or be actually really good at. It’s all skill in the end.

Picked up and got good at other sports so much quicker. It’s very much a ego balancer. Footy I wasn’t as good but let me tell you I would play 3x more better games in footy then in cricket.

Some games you swear you spent two weeks with sh+t weather and 20 hours in the field thinking to yourself why in the world would anyone be mentally sound to do this lol. Turf can be sh+thouse lol

If anyone actually starts playing cricket, please for the love your own sanity sake. Do not put your hand up to open the batting it’s a thankless job lmao.

League changed the rules for parity. Because if they didnt do that, the championship will just be controlled by a handful of players and these players usually ends up on the top FA destination teams.

I know no handcheck rule has been around for quite a while. And ive mentioned it before, but I think we went to 1-2 more levels in like the last 3 years.

Im a purist and this lead me to watch a lot less on regular season games. I find the structure very repetitive. I was expecting the playoffs to be more physical this season, but i was disappointed.

So I think eyeatoma recently was saying why im acting different and mik3 said im overblowing PnR. Its just that i think the game has just changed. A LOT. That I think the Sixers is fighting a world war with stick and stones.

Brightside is.. if Sixers is a team in FIBA, I think they’ll be a lot better

..this is because their defense can make more impact while perimeter guys gets less favorable treatment from the refs making a more even playing field between bigs and guards

Think about this

Simmons shot 34% fts in playoffs which is absolutely disgraceful

Hack him in FIBA and he gets 2 fts & ball back

Do it again

And again

3pts & more every time down the floor plus he’s allowed to play defence

Very different game even if he shoots fts at 34%

Meanwhile Joel does not get anywhere near as many free throws a game in FIBA
