Hornets and Pacers just cut us out of the deal
Heyward for turner/lamb.
Trading shamet/harris is suicide for us as well. cant trade both. need to keep one.
Indy also likely would not entertain turner for Harris/Claxton, from what pacers and other fans said based on a proposal i made a few weeks ago.

The way I see it, Charlotte would rather have our duo, for the $5mil less in incoming salary (they are hoping to be a player in free agency), as well as the stronger club control on contracts.
And Indiana would rather have Shamet than nothing in your version, I don't think they do that swap alone.
Also, you are being overly dramatic about losing Joe and Landry. Relatively speaking, losing shooters is not suicide, when we have a Big 3. In fact, each of our Big 3 have accomplished more without a shooter near the quality of either than they have collectively here. That would seem to suggest that there is more to basketball than off-ball marksmanship.
Lamb cannot replicate the efficiency of Joe, but he can bring better perimeter defense, rebounding and above-the-rim athleticism, things we lacked in the postseason. You have to give something in order to get something, and we're getting a real C who can both provide the rim protection we need, and can actually play for Nash given his 3pt shooting.

Again, its moot cause they cut us out. charlotte isnt dealing heyward without getting turner back. this trade being so bad it got locked and you got warned about a suspension on the trade board should be a good sign that this trade has 0 shot.
Cant trade joe and shamet. need at least 1 role floor spacer you can count on.
this is a non starter.

Re: Nets Retool w/ Pacers, Hornets
You can point to the fact that a mod locked this trade proposal on the T&T board. That is true. It doesn't justify the lock, nor does it invalidate the proposal. You have not, and I believe you cannot, make a rational argument for why it should be "a non-starter".
People come up with trades on that board all the time, that shamelessly favor their own team. They get the benefit of the doubt, and for some reason a few moderators have their sights set on me for this behavior, even though I'm accosted by fellow Nets fan as often as others for my trades. I'm equal opportunity hated!
According to the mods, they felt very strongly last summer that my trades Involving Levert and Prince for James Harden were lockworthy, and they are determined not to allow the same latitude this summer. But they forget, the actual deal in real life went down very similar in value to the proposals I always made.
Now, in this deal, you say that Charlotte wouldn't deal Gordon without getting Myles. Maybe, but I think you're missing a critical detail. The Hornets are rumored to be rival suitors to Sacramento for Richaun Holmes. They wouldn't want two C's on their roster making starter level money, so this deal would alleviate that problem while opening up enough capspace to make a competitive offer for the UFA.
Finally, admit this: you feel that we're giving up too much in this deal. That's one sign of a fair deal, where everyone feels like they're giving a lot. You've harped on the fact that we lost both of our shooters, despite the fact that we get Lamb in return, who shot 41% this season. You obviously feel that we are not siphoning value out of the deal. So, I'm right. This is a fair deal, that did not get a fair shot. That's why I want to hear from more Brooklyn fans like you! THANKS, FRIEND!

If I was Charlotte, I would say no. There's no benefit in this deal for them.

i dont think were giving up too much. i think its unrealistic we dont give up more and more unrealistic they teams dont cut us out as we just suck value from the deal
the harris/shamet point is more general then specific to this deal.
i dont think we have anything we could give up to make indy give us turner. we dont have the assets outside the big 3 for him

Re: Nets Retool w/ Pacers, Hornets
I actually dislike this trade for us (I know it was locked on the T&T board as it was deemed as too favorable to Nets for some reason). That value is WAY too much for Myles Turner who is really not that good, and coming off a foot injury which can be problematic in bigs. If Myles Turner was a fringe all star caliber player, maybe even someone close to prime Al Horford level, it'd be a different story. But he's not that guy. He has a lot of flaws.

Re: Nets Retool w/ Pacers, Hornets
I wouldn’t do it. I don’t think it’s Claxton not being a stretch 5 that keeps him off the court, it’s him not doing enough offensively as a rim runner, and being too soft on both ends of the court at times that keeps him off the floor in favor of Griffin or Green. DJ was getting significant run for a long time until it became clear he was unplayable. Allen was a stud for us and Nash had no problems playing him.
So I’d hold onto him, and as disappointing as Joe was, him and Shamet together are two great shooters that space the floor for us.
Not sure why people even want to mess with the current lineup we have. Bruh, we got wrecked with injuries and still almost won the title (Milwaukee was the one team that could have beaten us even with our injuries imo). If Harden, the iron man of the league, could stay healthy for us for next year’s playoffs, and KD is healthy, never mind Kyrie…we’re once again clearly the #1 team in the league. We don’t have to mess with a good thing.

This is a fair take. We weren't far removed from the summit, and we were a severely compromised version of ourselves. Although I will point out, there is an opportunity cost to both changing and remaining the same.
If we rest on our laurels and assume that health will cinch a ring, we're seeing ourselves up for disappointment. First, why do we assume that we will be healthy? James has a good track record, so I can see him being more available next season. But KD and KI both had an unusually healthy season compared to their track record, and they aren't getting younger.
Secondly, is no other contender interested in improving? You may say we're the 2022 odds-on favorite now, but what if Philly trades for Dame? What of GSW packages their youth assets for Beal? What if Paul signs with Miami or Dallas? Heck, what if Milwaukee and Phoenix load up on minimum contract ring chasers? Are we going to wait for other teams to close the gap, before making our moves? At that point, the market rate increases for difference makers. I say do your business early, like Marks always does, don't wait and have to pay through the nose.
