I'm firmly on team Mobley/Suggs, but if the Raps take Barnes, it's because they think his shooting is projectable. HIs form is no worse than any of the top 4 (except maybe Cade who combined great mechanics with excellent results). If Barnes shot in the mid or high 30% range from 3, this whole discussion is very different given the rest of his tools (namely elite wing defense and legit point forward skills).

I think it will be very telling if we pick Barnes over Suggs or Mobley. It would suggest more of a rebuild as opposed to a retool.

Even if he does fix his terrible offence, we don’t need 2 OG’s on the roster. Picking Barnes would make the least sense out of anybody.

Us picking Barnes over Mobley is comedy. Mobley is the better prospect in every way.

Shooting, not offence. There's a big difference. He's run point since HS, while OG is still trying to figure out his handle. He reads the game well and can pass in the halfcourt. The person you should really compare him to is Pascal, who Nurse currently uses as a primary ballhandler in some lineups. Of course, Pascal has had to learn this in the NBA and as an older prospect, so there's a pretty big difference in ceiling even in that comparison (but then, there's a reason Pascal went late 1st and Barnes is high-lotto).

Just because people are confident in the FO, no matter who they pick, including Barnes. Doesnt mean they value Barnes over Mobley or Suggs or Green.

Also if having an opinion that doesnt fit the norm is enough to get your account nuked, than whats the point of this thread? Is this just an excercise in masturbation, where everyone just circulates the same talking points until draft day?

He’s the perfect 3&D. Very similar to OG. 6’9” with a 7’1” wingspan and an elite shot (50/40/90)

Ya that is nonsense. I have no problem if the raps pick a Mobley or Suggs over Barnes but that doesn't mean I think that Barnes isn't a great prospect.

Suggs vs Barnes is roughly like comparing J Holiday to Ben Simmons. Holiday might be the better offensive player but I still take Simmons. Even if it was comparing Holiday to Barnes other comparable, Green, I'd still be inclined to say I like Barnes.

Suggs is the guy who might be that Alpha number 1 option. And if we pick him cool.
Barnes will probably never ever be a number 1 option, probably not even your 2nd option on a winning team. But he could be that super glue guy that makes your other guys better. His passing is excellent and vision is excellent. That is an offensive skill that is hard to find in a guy that also has elite athletic abilites and a perfect nba body.

Obviously Barnes is more of a project in that his shooting needs to improve, but I have the confidence in our system to say that is fixable trait.

Thinking about a lineup with Barnes OG and Siakam in the frontcourt makes me drool. The defense would be absolutely deadly. Barnes is the kind of guy you can play half his minutes as a guard and the other half as a big.

Mobley and Suggs probably have higher upsides, but anyone that ignores Barnes as a potential draft pick is an idiot who doesn't know basketball.

If Detroit gets cute and takes Green, I think I would move multiple firsts along with 4 to get Cade. Lots of people are overthinking this because it’s draft season but Cade’s floor, to me, is Rudy Gay. He’s already a better and more efficient shooter than Gay was at that time, and if I know I’m adding that to this core, I think I would be willing to give 2-3 extra firsts to get it done.

That is the ugliest lineup in the NBA....Not to mention Siakam cannot play Center at all and we would get killed on the glass every night just like this season with Aaron Baynes as our only big body and when Siakam was there we got destroyed in the paint and gave easy layups half the time cause we had 0 presence at the Rim...

The shooting and spacing would literally be all jacked up cause OG is a stand still Corner shooter, Can't Create for himself yet, Siakam is a streaky Shooter at best, Barnes is a non factor shooting the ball so teams will sag off on him and let him shoot and brick while we have FVV and GTJR the only ones in the lineup who can shoot decent....

If the Raptors ever did a dumb move and drafted Barnes then your basically rebuilding from scratch at that point and moving Siakam for picks and w/e else and tanking the next few seasons to build a real contender in the draft cause Adding Barnes with OG/Siakam sure on defense its good but we would struggle to score 100 points with Lowry being gone as well
