I think the team needs a vet PG to help this team forward. For me that is Lowry.

Sexton has been on a losing team, I feel confident Randle and Thibs will have Sexton play winning basketball.

I can’t stop imagining replacing a 25 ppg scorer with Elfrid Payton on a Thibs coached team.

Honestly, if we can get this guy, I think we are one really good player away from being in the elite of the East. And if we do get him and sign him to a new deal, he would be a nice asset if we were to trade for Lillard/Mitchell/Booker in 12 months. (/ represents or, not AND)

I want to make it clear, he can get his own shot, he can penetrate and create, and he has 3 years of NBA experience where he has learned the NBA game.

He is a 24 ppg scorer who has improved year after year.

What could we get away with giving up in such a deal?

The Knicks are the most aggressive trade suitor for Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton, sources said. Sexton is eligible for his rookie extension this offseason, and with one year left on his deal, it allows Cleveland to continue to be patient in constructing the roster.

Sexton for Obi Knox and 1 of our middling first would be almost as much of a steal as the Dennis smiff for Rose trade was for us

yeah 100% you do that trade. Sound like CLE knows they are in a tough spot with probably selecting a guard and keeping all 3 of garland/sexton/draft pick will be tough.

Thats one of those packages where you see what Sexton has in a winning situation and the value isn't crazy where if it doesn't work out you regret that move.

Betting on young talent (productive and efficient no less) from losing teams is the way to go for a team that both wants to compete and build for the long term.

Not a fan of Sexton's decision-making but I love the mindset and the mix of volume and efficiency.

Sexton might be next in line in the Booker/Lavine mold. Guys who are not necessarily floor raisers but who are significant ceiling raisers in the right situation.

Here's a random fact:

Sexton was more efficient scoring the ball last year than Randle and RJ.

In fact, Sexton was above-average in scoring efficiency (TS%), while Randle and RJ were below-average.

I didn't think Randle was a great defender and Thibs made him into a pretty decent one. Sexton isn't big but is quick. Put in the right spot I think he should be passable. Tough to judge any cavs on defense since they have been so bad.

They were pretty high on Obi pre-draft a lot of reports had them 50-50 on Okoro and Obi.

I think CLE would have to pay a much higher price to get Loves 60 MM over 2 years off there books.
