At first glace it looks like a steal for the Knicks who likely would have walked away from Knox after next season any way and don't seem to be utilizing Toppin in a way that is making him look like an NBA player and a late 1st;

However, Knox is just turning 22 and its possible given minutes (assuming Love is gone) he looks more like he did in his rookie season and you hope with Toppin a new system and coaching helps you improve.

The Cavs clearly don't want to pay Sexton what he will likely end up getting and that is potentially the most Anti-Cavs decision the franchise has made in a while. While I think the package is light, maybe Sexton's value is limited due to the contract he will likely end up with. Long term ending up with that poo-poo platter is still likely better than paying Sexton on a near max for four seasons in a long rebuild.

Don't know how it went from a clear consensus 4 to broken players being mentioned in the top 4, but whatever....

Lots of people are overthinking this because it’s draft season but Cade’s floor, to me, is Rudy Gay. He’s already a better and more efficient shooter than Gay was at that time, and if I know I’m adding that to this core, I think I would be willing to give 2-3 extra firsts to get it done.

Cade's floor looks great. I think that's why he's the likely number 1 pick. It's his ceiling compared to the other options that I wonder about. I wouldn't move multiple picks for him. I'm fine with Mobley or Suggs plus the picks moving forward.

Hypothetically if Orlando targeted Suggs would anyone here consider trading down from 4 with Orlando for the 5 & 8, assuming that option was available?

Orlando drafts - Suggs
Toronto drafts - Barnes & Bouknight (or someone else)

Vanvleet
Bouknight
Anunoby
Siakam
Barnes

That's a pretty intriguing death lineup. Still would have Trent, Flynn, Boucher, Birch off the bench and plenty of cap space/flexibility to work with.

Drafting Suggs and Ayayi would be pretty fun. Maybe he lasts till the first SRP? I did a search and picked the first mock that I saw with both rounds. https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/nba-draft-order-cade-cunningham-detroit-pistons-houston-rockets-evan-mobley

32 New York Knicks (via DET): Joel Ayayi

Guard, 6-5, 21.4 years old (Gonzaga)

Although it was surprising to see Joel Ayayi not included as a participant in the G League Elite Camp or the NBA combine, it could mean that the slashing guard received a draft promise that he would be selected by a team in a comfortable range like the early second-round.

Not a good prognoses there. Yet, with so many SRP options it's all good if not.

It's an old mock and Kispert is not picked till #29. I find that hard to imagine.

When he runs away with the rookie of the year award it won't seem so crazy. He's currently the best player of all prospects and I understand there are significant question marks about how his game will translate he put up the best stats Ive ever seen coming into the NBA. Him and Luka stand alone for pre draft prospects when adjusting for competition.

An unathletic, undersized big with slow foot speed who can't shoot is not being taken in the top-10 and isn't sniffing ROY. I'd be shocked if he ever became a starter in the NBA.

I wouldn't want the Raptors to draft Segun at #4. I'd rather go cookie cutter and take whoever of the top 4 falls to the Raptors.

Yet there's no denying he has tremendous talent and skill. If Barnes can develop a shot well so can Segun! I think Segun does in fact develop a shot. His form looks good. He obviously works hard. Once he gets in the league and live game experience he'll realize what he needs to do. He's a very good passer. He seems cerebral. His footwork is excellent. Lots of concerns with him sure. Watching him play I think it's foolish to write him off.

Mostly he seems like a bad fit with NN.

How many 18 year olds have foot work like that. I'm rooting for him. Watching players shoot threes after threes is boring.

Makes a lot of sense all around.

That's more or less what I predicted.

Detroit being Detroit. I can't imagine going with Green over Cade.

Detroit is playing with fire by going against the consensus. If Cade ends up better than Green they’ll never hear the end of it

Maybe because consensus "top x" drafts virtually never pan out as expected? i.e. every year there are a handful of players selected beyond the consensus "elite" that have better careers.

I actually think Mobley and Green have higher absolute ceilings than Cade, but Weaver putting himself out there to select Green could really backfire if things don't pan out the way he thinks they will.

I like Suggs and I generally don't advise moving a dollar for 4 quarters. But if this deal were to be done for whatever reason, I would send 8 and our seconds for Turner and #13. Solves our C problem on the cheap and I'd take Jalen Johnson with #13.

With 5, I'm probably going with Kuminga.

WTF? That would be funny if he goes in the lottery.

If Suggs is there at 4, I'd do 4 for 5+8 - value is too good to pass up imo. Barnes/Kuminga at 5, BPA at 8. If Mobley is there at 4 I'm staying put.

So I guess the top 4 order of 1 Cade 2 Green 3 Mobley 4 Suggs is basically all but locked. I remember seeing an article (can't remember where though) that the Cavs like the idea of paring Mobley/Allen at the 4/5, and that the only reason they were really considering moving their pick or reaching was because they want to add size and athleticism to their core in this draft and they didn't believe Mobley would be there at 3.
