Stein sucks as a source but assuming it is true so this means
Sexton, Brogdon, Beasley/Rubio, Lowry/stuff, and hopefully Fox...more than likely Hield and Bagley. Are the current offers

Elton Brand era was better tbh if Morey doesnt get a star back for Simmons.
The Jimmy trade was one of the best trades in franchise history and apparently Jimmys agent on twitter @bernieolee sings Eltons praises and hates Morey.
I think it was ownership who pissed Jimmy off. Elton wanted him to stay.
He probably would have kept Jimmy and shipped off Simmons.

Toronto goes with:
Siakam/Simmons/OG/FVV and has a really good 4 man team.
Sixers replace Simmons and Howard with Lowry and Baynes, and add Suggs for future development behind Lowry.

If Elton wanted Jimmy to stay so bad he would not had traded what he did for Harris. The moment he traded for Harris he forced the team to pick between both and it will always be Harris based on what we gave up for him
Reminder it was also Elton who maxed Ben one year before free agency, Elton was also the one who brought Morey in.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread
If the return on Simmons is underwhelming nobody takes a bigger hit than Joel Embiid. It's either ride this train into the mediocrity sunset until his body gives out for good, or we're about another whelmed early exit out from him taking a step back and realizing he can't win here.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread
The 76ers have opened up trade conversations surrounding Simmons and have engaged with teams, sources told The Athletic. Those sources also say that teams that have engaged with the 76ers about Simmons have been met with a high price threshold for the three-time All-Star. –
“(The 76ers) want an All-Star-caliber player in return,” one source with knowledge of the ongoing talks said. Make no mistake: Interest across the league in Simmons remains robust. He’s turning just 25 this month, was an All-NBA team member in 2019-20, is a two-time All-Defensive first-team member and a Rookie of the Year award winner. Simmons is under contract through 2025, making him the type of superstar talent that rarely becomes available at an attainable price at this juncture of his career

Getting a young prospect to overrate would satiate me...and he wouldn't even need to be ready with Lowry's corpse in the way.
hmmm.
Doubt Toronto would pass on the gift top 5 pick tho.

It's going to be tough, when someone wants out, you typically get a lessened return. I was hoping it was situation where if they didn't get what they wanted, they could try to "make it work" aka hold out for more. But it seems they're past that.
I think unless they are able to get what they want, their next best bet would be to getting the package that they can be flipped for the most in the future.

Edwards isn't available. That might take Minny out (and that's fine by me) but Edwards has more trade value than Simmons does.

Raps top 5 pick? Pass.
Suggs isn’t gonna solve our problem.
I’ll ship it to a third team instead

If the repots are true and there are 4 or 5 teams interested you can still get something valuable by making them out bid each other.
Maybe the Raptors can wait for one or two seasons, but teams like the Cavs, Minny, the Kings and even Portland have gms with mounting pressure to be good/contenders right now, if they want to keep their jobs

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread
I think it’s most likely going to be a multi team trade with Simmons going to one of the teams that truly covet him, and something rerouted with picks to the team that gives the Sixers what they want.

Elton Brand was a figurehead. If you think he had sole decision making powers you dont have a clue how this organization ran before Morey and post Colangelo.
