*If Edwards isnt available that will take Minny out.

Morey is a clown if he discusses any trade that doesnt have Edwards (to a 3rd team) with Minnesota. The only two good trade chips they have are KAT and Edwards.

If Minny fails to trade for Ben, then it means another year to the lottery for them

I think unless they are able to get what they want, their next best bet would be to getting the package that they can be flipped for the most in the future.

If the repots are true and there are 4 or 5 teams interested you can still get something valuable by making them out bid each other.

Maybe the Raptors can wait for one or two seasons, but teams like the Cavs, Minny, the Kings and even Portland have gms with mounting pressure to be good/contenders right now, if they want to keep their jobs
That is a good point. Whereas Simmons might have more value to them by getting them to the playoffs, but we also need someone as good if not better. Could make sense in a three team deal where we re-route the players and picks with some of our players and picks for an upgrade. Seems tough though.

Honestly they are pretty screwed. They are at the luxury tax line with the current roster and just had the 6th worst record in the league.

KAT is one year away from making a trade request like most stars do with 2 years left and no hope.

Their new owners probably want to move the team and will have a convenient excuse if KAT asks out.

Edwards is a prime sell high candidate. He had a nice hot stretch to end the season but he is worse than Ball and Haliburton. They can get the perfect fit in Simmons and build their own "big 3" with kat and ben and dlo who are all buddies and would probably stay together for a while.

We would flup Edwards for a star to a team that doesnt want simmons and wants to rebuild after trading their star.

Win. Win. Win.

Like I said, that's fine by me. I'd much rather have Edwards than Simmons.

Where is KAT traded to next offseason?

Do you think you guys will get the Paul George package back for him or will you have to settle for the Jrue Holiday package?

Are you guys extending franchise cornerstone DAngeslow this summer? He can get a 3 year 110 million extension from Minnesota this summer.

Isnt the question you should worry about whether Embiid signs his super max extension if you don’t move Simmons or if Morey screws up this trade?

DLo will not be extended this offseason. Hopefully they’ll get a long look next year at how Towns, Russell, and Edwards play together and then make decisions. We’ll see. To make a leap, Edwards is going to have to make another jump like he did after Finch was hired (look at his efficiency the last two months). Towns has shown he’s not an alpha, but because of his offensive abilities, he’d make a great #2. Just need Edwards to hurry up his timeline.

Unless something really creative happens (three team deal where MN picks go to a third team for a borderline all star type), you’ll get better offers than MN is willing to give, so I think Simmons ends up elsewhere.

Now i want Ben to be traded for edwards by any means necessary.

Not because i want Edwards as a player but it will be fun to visit the meltdown at the Wolves board once it happens.

Don't get your panties in a bunch lol. I'm not hating on Simmons, all I said was I'd rather have Edwards (contract plays a big factor in that as well). Edwards has enormous potential and I think could turn into a #1 and I'm willing to hold out to see how that potential plays out.

As a Minny fan, I really want Simmons because I think the fit is there and he would help immensely. Do I extend Dlo? No but I do think he provides value in a specific role. Does KAT ask out? He might but we have Edwards and future picks and finally have a new ownership. Glen Taylor was brutal and the worst owner in maybe all of sports.

I also really liked what I saw out of Chris Finch after he was hired. The wolves didn't look too bad when everybody was fully healthy.

And that's fine but what if it goes the other way and Simmons is traded for .50 cents on the dollar?

Stein sucks as a source but assuming it is true so this means

Sexton, Brogdon, Beasley/Rubio, Lowry/stuff, and hopefully Fox...more than likely Hield and Bagley. Are the current offers
Huh????? Stein is one of the best sources out there what are you talking about? After Woj and Shams he's the best.

We got Morey.

You’re team will likely give up Edwards. Because your team is at the bottom of the food chain that teams on top likes to prey for your talents. Another thing is your team will do whatever it takes to just make the playoffs. Specially after the success of the Suns.

Sixers really in no major rush to trade Simmons if it doesn’t bring a really good player back.

Look at all the multiple all star players who get traded. Most have only 1 year left. 2 years left max. So their time is short.

Ben has 4 years left. No incentive to trade Ben for pennies on the dollar.

Look Leonard was traded 1 year left
Harden 1.5 years left
Irving 2 years left
Anthony Davis 1 year left.
Paul George had 1 year left in Indiana
Chris Paul got traded 2 years left to okc. Than traded again with 1 year left (player option) to Phoenix.

So we are in uncharted territory trading someone this young and no major injury with 4 years left.

It seems the general consensus among Sixers fans is McCollum is kind of the baseline for Simmons trades. Meaning, that’s the absolute lowest level player most fans will be even willing to consider and any player worse than that is “no thanks” unless of course that player who is “worse” is super young and has the potential to be much better than McCollum is now.

And even Sixers fan interest in McCollum is kind of divided, but I get the sense, anyone worse than him is where the line is drawn and all fans are in agreement on that.

Would people here agree with that general stance?

Darryl Morey has lost trades before too. Don't forget that.

I'm willing to bet that Edwards is not on the table especially for Simmons. Who are the wolves bidding against? The kings? They're not giving up Fox. Maybe you guys can get Lavine which would be a good fit or McCollum but I don't see any team giving up the asset that you think. Atleast not this offseason. I think his value increases if he stays with the Sixers one more year.

Yes. But I'd be disappointed if that was all we got.
