I love how when you view the tweet, Ben's picture is censored with a sensitive content warning

No, that isn't the point. The point is to take undrafted players, and late first round picks and turn them into all-stars or near all-stars.

But the salary needs to be close to the $30M Kyle Lowry was making as both teams were over the cap. Danny Green would only have been about half that, that's why I'm asking, I didn't see any other movable contracts that Philly had.

The Sixers needed to trade approx 23M in salary.

Green, Maxey and Scott would have worked. They also had Ferguson and Tony Bradley. The salary matching part wasn't the issue.

I think the issues were
a) Philly was trading probably 5 players to make the math work and that was a lot of depth they were shedding (losing 2 shooters in Green and Scott hurts the most). From their side, they were already giving up a lot.
b) Toronto wasn't too excited by Maxey and weren't interested in another undersized shooting guard given Fred VanVleet as a key player for the next 3 years.
c) Masai wasn't going to just give Kyle to a team for little to nothing because the optics of trading a franchise player for a bunch of expiring contracts and one questionable prospect. At some point it's a reputation thing and Masai's would have taken a hit if he gives Kyle to a team for a player he doesn't even want.

From the Raptors side I absolutely don't do that deal just to get Maxey, so I'm not surprised a deal didn't get done since I don't see Philadelphia being willing to include a future first round pick. Just seems like there wasn't a deal to be made.

I once said God I wonder how it would be if Kawhi was on this team and it happened. I don't know if Ben is that guy we need but maybe some ppl might speak it into existence.

Morey also loves Kyle Lowry
Thats fine, he also refused to get fleeced for lowry at the deadline. At least what he thought was a fleecing, in reality it was just him being cowardly and costing his team the title. Regardless tho He'll have no problem walking away from the table again this summer.

If this was Elton brand still? Maybe.

Oh god, I'd rather watch Siakam shoot 20 bricks from 3 in a playoff series then watch this guy brick free throws and pass out of dunks because he's afraid Trae Young might foul him.

The only way that this trade happens is if weeks later it turns out that Masai had signed a contract with Philly all along. :noway:

Siakam is a weird fit for the Sixers though. Harris is too slow at small forward, but Joel does allow Siakam to leak out and be that transition scorer he was years ago at his peak.

Not sure how reliable they are but I’ve followed them on Twitter for a couple years now since they were pretty reliable at the time with regards to some Canadian draft workout news and stuff like that

The source is saying their connections is from back when Murray worked out for them so I guess we’ll just have to see. Take it with a grain of salt I’d say tho
