It would be interesting to see the news out of Philadelphia concerning Simmons spurs them to make
a Simmons trade offer that Portland could not refuse.

He just said a week ago he’s staying here. I don’t know what to believe

If true might be for the best, but him requesting a deal seemingly lowers his value

UH OH... was a bit concerned when I saw the, "I want no trade" statement last week. This is usually the first step in the superstar, force-out process. Now we may get another controlled message a week later. Shocking! Someone claiming he will give a presser after practice today. Guess we'll see soon, but he's definitely "trending" (as the kid's say).

When this story falls apart with Lillard not asking Olshey to trade him and not being traded … will Henry Abbott recant saying his anonymous, “close to Lillard” source had it wrong? Will a sports journalist — who by nature of that industry routinely using anonymous sources — run a correction? I respect when journalists do so.

Seems odd that last week he was saying he would keep everything he has to say in house and now he spouting off thos Haynes. Truly seems like someone in the middle of a mid-career crisis. Maybe its the age getting to him realizing his window is now only 4-5 years. Just seems out of character. If he does actually request out I hope there is a clear explanation as its such a 180 from everything we've known him to say about staying here long-term.

Nurk doesn't seem to believe it but there are a lot of ears around these Team USA games, so Lillard could have been venting about his frustrations with the Blazers and someone took that and ran with it. I'll wait until this comes from a more solid source before believing it, but if Lillard demands out and Olshey keeps his job I won't watch a single second of basketball in protest next year. And I question how effective i could be as as a mod during that period.

I for one, am not surprised by any of the chatter, but I will continue to be skeptical until I see the WOJ bomb... or at least ESPN giving it some cred.

I think Haynes may too be a pretty reliable source for anything Dame.

If my Knicks trade away...

PG: Immanuel Quickley (22).
SG: R.J. Barrett (21).
PF: Oni Toppin (23).
C: Mitchell Robinson (23).
3 1st round picks.

And all for a 5x 1st round exit and now a 31 year old PG with atrocious Defense who ranked 300th (299) in Defensive Win Share (in comparison to R.J. who ranked top 10 as a 2nd year Player on Defense)?

I'll finally quit on my Knicks franchise and quit Basketball forever.

I'm sorry Portland fans you guys have been nothing but kind and classy towards me but I don't want your superstar because he's 31 and plays ATROCIOUS Defense and my Knicks are coming off a 4th seed and Playoffs for 1st time in 8 years due to youth and a #1 Tom Thibs NBA #1 Defense.

And we're trying to throw it all away for a 31 year old PG with only 4-5 years left before he completely and physically breakdown?

Don't feel bad if you lose him. You'll gain A+ value young value in return.

One can only imagine how the "recruiting" of Dame is going at the Olympics for the opportunity
to play with better players has to be opening the eyes for Dame. Let's see if Draymond Green
who appears to be really close friends with Dame, gets the ear of the benefits of playing alongside
of Steph or if Jayson Tatum buddies up with him.

I would bet the GSW have the most to offer for Dame of the 4 teams mentioned but I would wonder
if Portland would want to see Dame 4 times/season. Miami has an outside chance for Dame seems
to be bonding well with Bam and could basically offer up all their young players for they could see
adding Dame to Bam/Butler would be a contending team

I was quietly hoping that Dame would be the one doing the "recruiting", trying to lure another star to Portland... KD in particular. But I agree with you... you know this type of thing happens when NBA stars get together.

If this does end up having legs, then I just hope Olshey plays it smart. He won't need to cater to demands, but I'm not confident he won't. Also, I see a potential massive haul if all NBA teams are allowed to bid on the franchise marketing CASH-COW that is Dame is.

This is probably just click bait bull. Why would this news be broken by "Henry Abbott" rather than Woj or someone we know Dame contacts like Haynes. Dame just said a few days ago he is not going to demand a trade.

Dame’s d is indeed bad but he makes up for it with his high efficiency and being the most clutch player i’ve ever seen including compared to kobe roy allen or other greats.

I think even at that cost dame makes you better but if the knicks trade for dame they need to follow up by acquiring a second big name star while keeping randle and signing some vets. Do that and the knicks will be dangerous

I say this knowing that you need a superstar to win a title: Superstars are overrated. Yes indeed if you have a great team next to them they’re incredibly essential but if you’re meddling along as a middle of the road team stuck in mediocrity while they do sell jerseys i think the level of assets you can get for a superstar has surprisingly often proven to be a great way to build a contender if done effectively

Nah bro. I hate what super teams like Bron and KD have done to the game I once loved and still love because kids like the Greek Freak.

C: Trash.
PF: Randle.
SF: Kawhi (ACL).
SG: Trash.
PG: Dame (31).
6th man: Trash.

Bench: Trash.
Draft picks: Trash.
Role players: Trash.

I don't want to root for a 3 man basketball team and trash everywhere else bro "winning" a ring isn't that important to me.

Isn't being a basketball fan about having fun? Because that's not fun for me (super team above).

The Knicks of the 1990s were fun for me. Playoffs 10 years in a row (actually 14) under Patrick Ewing as our ONLY Superstar. We competed and went to war against Detroit, Chicago, Indiana and Miami. We never won a ring but guess what? Go to YouTube. Type in Patrick Ewing returns to NY after being traded to Seattle.

Our Knicks didn't boo #33 because of failure. We celebrated him like no fan base EVER celebrated one of their own. We made Ewing damn near cry during his 1st game back home as a Supersonic. Us Knicks fans rooted for Seattle that game and not our Knicks for the 1st time. Ever! We treated Ewing like our KING OF FKN NY!

That's what type of NYK fan I am. A loyal one. And I don't want to cheat the NBA with another super team because I won't be here to watch.

I don't want your Dame Lillard. And I don't want you to lose your Ewing either. I want RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, Mitchell Robinson, 1st round draft picks, Lonzo Ball as a FA, Duncan Robinson as a FA and my #1 NBA Defense back!

In closing. What happens to my "team" when one of Randle Dame Kawhi gets injured?

A 2 man crap basketball "team" and the Brooklyn Nets joke of RealGM?

Magic Johnson's Showtime Lakers
Larry Bird's Boston Celtics.
Isaiah Thomas's Bad boy Pistons
Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls
Patrick Ewing's Knicks of the 1990's
Tim Duncan's Spurs of the 2000's
Steph Curry's Golden State Warriors (before "KD").
Greek Freaks Milwaukee Bucks of today

That's what I want.

I just want the blazers to win a title, i’m not picky about how we get there. And if anyone could form a super team they’d be dumb to turn down that chance let’s be real

So much of this talk is the banter when the better players get together.

Let's see If Dame demands to know what Portland plans to do this summer and makes his
decision to stay or go based on what Portland is going to do.

Return to Portland Trail Blazers
