Nonethless, Instead of trading Simmons at his lowest value, I actually think he'd play better as a point forward at the 4.

1,2,3 positions all need shooting. You cant win with Simmons bricking every shot or not even taking them at PG, just too easy to defend, especially in the playoffs.

The guy you should be trading is Tobias Harris.

Make a run at Lowry for S and T

Lowry
Seth Curry
Thybull
Simmons
Embiid

Way better balance. Takes pressure off Simmons. He can now share the playmaking with Lowry and doesnt have to worry about shooting production for the team at the 4.

You are wrong. You have to shoot at all positions other than center.

The center who sets screens, rim rolls, and stands at the dunker spot is the only guy on the floor who doesnt have to shoot.

All the other 4 positions must shoot. Who are these PFs on offense who dont shoot on successful teams?

Giannis is effectively the center on offense as Brook just spaces the floor. In the modern NBA only 1 of your starters can be a non shooter.

Embiid shoots the 3 lol.

Running Simmons as your point forward is your best case scenario and you increase his trade value. People offering peanuts for him right now.

Is there a viable Simmons trade that gets Love, #3, and Sexton?

Who is exactly is asking for that? A casual fan on the internet? I sure as hell didn't ask for that. I personally would like to see Lowry and #4 for Ben and another player or...our first round pick. I feel like that's fair value all things considered. But again, I'm just a dumbass fan myself who isn't a GM.

I disagree, the #4 pick shouldn't even be on the table. Ben hasn't significantly improved offensively since his rookie year, and he hasn't shown a discernible willingness to do so. Personally I hope that the Raptors don't make a trade for Simmons, as I think he's highly overrated. This is just my opinion, and I'm sure yours is at the other end of the spectrum as it pertains to Ben.

No, not really. If my opinion of Ben was on the other end of the spectrum as you've suggested, it would be well deserved. Personally, if he was as good as he was supposed to be, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. In fact, we would have won that game 7 against you guys two years ago. We'd also be playing in the finals right now had he been living up to expectations. He's been extremely frustrating over the years because the talent to be a top five player is clearly there. Again, we wouldn't even be discussing this, and sadly we shouldn't be. But here we are, yes...he's underachieved big time. He's also clearly no longer part of our plans. I highly doubt we trade him to the Raptors, because outside of FVV (Who I don't think is all that good), there really isn't any interest unless that pick is involved. If I'm a Raps fan, I'm saying "screw that" and keeping the 4th pick and moving forward with FVV, OG, Boucher, and Siakim.

Yep, doesn't matter if Simmons is not a rim protector and is best utilized as a perimeter defender. He has to be a point C. Jokic minus the shooting.

Personally, I don't think so unless we're giving them back Maxey and picks which would be pointless. It's either one or the other I think and the Cavs clearly value this third pick over Sexton. If we want the 3rd pick, we'll have to dig deep and at that point, we'd e digging the same depth required to get an established superstar. In short, I don't think Cleveland or Tampa Bay are teams we'll be dealing with.

Sexton is best paired with Simmons. But the Cavs seem committed to keeping Garland and drafting Jalen Green.

Still seems to me the easiest Simmons trade is still Love and 3, though. And then flip 3 plus Tobias and Hill and 2 future unprotected 1sts for Beal and Bertans.

My Raptors trade: Fred VanVleet, Chris Boucher, Paul Watson, #46, #47 for Ben Simmons

If you think that's insulting sorry Simmons has a lot going against him as a player and he is on a big contract. FVV is good and cheaper and could be Sixers 2nd all star next year. Good argument he gives you a better chance of winning the title next year than trading Simmons for Sexton who is unproven on a winning team. Boucher is a really nice fit as a floor stretching shotblocking big.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Westbrook/ Maxey
Beal/ Curry / Joe
Thybulle / Shake
Bertans / Paul Reed / 28 pick
Embiid / -----

I don't like the Morey era one bit especially if he gets fleeced in this trade.

All we git was fake trade rumours (Harden and Lowry) but no substance.

At least the previous regime operated in the dark with the butler and harris trades.

Last season was just a transition year after Morey wasnt able to land Harden.

And if Morey can’t get a good player again, he wouldnt mind continuing this “transition” phase. Being competitive while accumulating assets on the side.

Morey came from the Celts way of doing things.

And if you look at Morey’s track record, he isn’t going to settle with our three stooges or overpaying for Lowry.

Another trade that has grown on me is Ben Simmons to the Cavs for Sexton, Love and #3.

I think the best prospect of the class will be there at #3 like he was in 2014 (embiid), 2017 (tatum), 2018 (luka), 2020 (ball).

I don't know if the Cavs would do that though.

Is Garland + Simmons + Allen a core they want to build around?

3 + Sexton seems optimistic.

Sexton is probably only out because they envision a prospect they like better with that pick to take his spot.

Cavs wont do that.

Maybe you replace #3 with a future first instead
