Long time CEO of the Rockets leaves for Philly, really hoping that Tillman shows some nepotism here and hires a family member to take over. Still think at least one of those 24/26 picks are going to be lottery picks for us

DUDE. Do yourself a favor and listen to this. The author basically imbedded with the KD Kyrie Nets. Blows the lid off the place. They're crooked. Claims they're engaging in CBA violations like buying players houses for family and girlfriends.
Also:
Durant is stoned all the time. Only thinks about basketball and is basically a pretty boring person because he only talks about basketball and has no other interets.
Kyrie has bought multiple houses for victims of crime including one wherein a guy in the E.R. just happened to mention to the dcotr that Kyr was his favorite player.
Etc.
Trust me, it's great.

Re: 2020-21 Around The NBA Thread
Given how conservative Kawhi usually is with returning from injuries, that might take him out for most of next regular season. Pretty significant since we start controlling their picks next year.
Also impressive how long Kawhi’s camp was able to convince the Clips to not release anything on this til now.

Likely means this pick ends up around 16 IMO with no other injuries to clips

Feels about right. They may rush his come back (January?) if the Clippers are struggling too much otherwise probably after the all star break.
They showed in the playoffs that they had a better roster than we thought but still...they gonna need PG13 to step up big time for them to stay in the playoff race without Kawhi.
Wouldn't mind PG13 to have a minor injury and miss 1-2 months

This is the only good news we have had since the lottery, feel bad for Kawhi but no need to fake it...

Soooooo......wonder if Kawhi will opt out.
If the clippers end up locking Reggie up long term because of this playoff run, they’re gonna be in such a dicey spot for the next 3-4 years. A roster full of aging dudes, KL/PG, Kennard/Zubac/Mann. Yeeeeesh.

Think Kawhi stays.
No more Kemba trade rumors to the Clippers though

Bad news for us is that Steve Balmer won't stop spending money.

Yeah, but I wonder if he opts out and resigns for 4 years on his jacked up quad and now knee. Honestly, I kind of hope he does at this point. Anyone think this is the last time he misses significant time in the next four years?
If Kawhi resigns for $40 million per and Reggie leverages the playoffs into getting $20 million per, it’s not really going to matter whether Ballmer spends. They’re gonna be screwed with no draft picks.

Re: 2020-21 Around The NBA Thread
So as far as I understand, Kawhi can opt out and resign a 4 year year deal or he can wait until next season and sign a 5 year deal? So he could sit out all next season, having no indication that his knee/quad will ever be the same, then sign for 5 years at $240 million. On top of the $36 million he’d make next year. And man, do the clippers have any other choice but to do exactly what Kawhi asks?
And if the 5 year contract is Kawhi’s plan, he’s HIGHLY incentivized to take his rehab slow. Slow to the point that he doesn’t even risk taking cuts or anything that could tear that ACL before he signs the 5 year deal.
And I just don’t see a way for the clippers to have the space to build around PG/KW with Kennard, Morris, and possibly Jackson taking up huge chunks of their cap. The clippers are screwed.

I think they have to pay him. Hope he won't accept a discount

Also hope Reggie goes somewhere else for money. Clippers can't afford to keep him if that's the case.

I hope they pay out the nose for him on a 4 year deal. I don’t trust him at all, especially on the wrong side of 30 with a long term deal. I’m rooting for the most disastrous clippers future, and that deal hamstrings them even more.

Fair enough. If it's something like almost 60/4 years, this is crazy good for us.
Shams reported that the Clippers wants Lonzo but I have no idea how they can afford to pay him.

I’m hoping he’s signed to a bad contract too. Everyone get their dough. It’s damn hard for them to make moves then. Low asset with just bad contract left.

Kawhi's never been much of an ironman, but if he misses next regular season because of this then he'll have played in ~46% of games since the Zaza injury in the 2017 playoffs. Have to think injuries of this magnitude will make him more susceptible as they keep accumulating. If PG doesn't stay healthy next year either..

Re: 2020-21 Around The NBA Thread
Kawhi only played 52 games this season and the Clippers still managed to have a pretty good record. Don't have the numbers but think they sat both PG13 and Kawhi on several ocasions. They are still a good team without Kawhi but yeah any key injury and they are screwed big time.

We got really lucky with shroeder. Him buying into his role here while now he wants a bigger role and more money . If he wasn’t interested previously we wouldn’t have been able to net what we got from the Lakers.

Pretty sure the CP3 effect on our team had a lot to do with Schroeder sticking to his role but yeah we got lucky as well. Somehow a stupid team will still pay him a lot of money.

Someone needs to take Tilman's phone away from him. This is embarassing.

I'd be a bit surprised if we're not involved in helping the Pelicans open up space
