The #4 is completely off the table. Not I chance I entertain that. I’m not involving Siakam or OG. I want Simmons playing with them. Fred? Raps need his shooting.
GTJ, Lowry s&t and future first is all I’m offering.

Can’t understand why people want this to happen. Can only guess they didn’t watch him play in the playoffs.
I can only hope that our “interest” is just Masai kicking the tires to see if he can get the guy at a bargain basement price.

I would personally be shocked if they got even one player as good as Lowry. Simmons destroyed his value in the second round this year.
The guy made the all-star team and was all-defense this year. His value hasn't gone down as much as you think.
It will be interesting to see what the market dictates.
I have a feeling the market thinks he’s worth the same as a guy who had to be benched in the playoffs , while the sixers think he’s worth his lofty credentials. So it’ll probably be a long process until someone panics.

Or maybe the Raptors being a third team, like Cleveland was with the harden trade where they got Allen for I don’t even remember what.

I'm not interested in adding Ben Simmons at his current salary. I'd rather have Siakam than Simmons, and the two of them together isn't a great fit.

the smart ones know that having a lineup with FVV+OG+Ben+Pascal + C would put us at the VERY top defensively(one of the all-time great potentially)
We will never be able to compete offensively against the Brooklyns of this world. We need a different approach with a defensive juggernaut.

Morey is going to see that the market for Simmons is a lot worse than he anticipated. Limited # of buyers. Price is going to drop but he knows he has to cut his losses. Its a tough decision because a trade could kickstart Simmons' progression. AVOID!
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Baynes, Watanabe and Boucher for Simmons and 3 unprotected firsts. If salary doesn't work, I would be willing to provide GTj.

Ben Simmons is 6'11 and weighs 240 pounds. If Raps want him it's probably to stick him in as a centre. Heck Draymond Green always played centre during crunch time and Simmons is basically a rich man's version of him.

But moves like he is 6'1

Re: Marc Stein: Toronto has expressed interest in Ben Simmons
Don’t want Ben on this team regardless what we trade for him. People can look at his defence and playmaking and see the stats and think ok that’s still a really good player, but you have to think about the playoffs. Y’all remember how Philly would camp paint in our series vs them when Gasol or Siakam had the ball up top? Literally giving them wide open shots, willing to take a chance they make 1 or two, and it was impossible to score in the paint. Pascal would still drive into the defence instead of taking the open shot. It was very detrimental to our team.
Now imagine that, but not only can’t get shoot the open 3, he can’t shoot the midrange either, and on top of that if he does somehow make it to the rim you can hack him and he can’t shoot a free throw lmao. Like no bro just no. **** no. No way in hell I want that bum ass mf on this team.

My guess is that it will be CJ McCollum for Simmons. McCollum has his limits, but he'd be deadly with Embiid. There's obviously some duplication with Seth Curry, but having two really good shooters could open things up a lot, and now it unlocks Thybulle a bit as well. The Trailblazers get a young stud defender that can run a fast break, on a team that is much better suited to run a fast pace.

If I'm Philly, the conversation is a non-starter if the deal is centred around one of OG or the 4th pick.

Re: Marc Stein: Toronto has expressed interest in Ben Simmons
Can the people who want Simmons please explain why they think he is worth the $35 mil per year that will cripple the team for 4 years. It is literally franchise player money for a guy that isn't or wants to be a franchise player, and cannot shoot, and has a proven track record of being an awful playoff player to boot. Wouldn't you want to spend that money on an actual player that you can count on to score in crunch time? I am not saying Siakam is that, but why Simmons? Id rather have Siakam, at least he can hit the occasional 3 and at least tries to be assertive, and he would be on the floor in the last 2 minutes of an important game unlike Simmons who can't hit a free throw or even has the ability/skillset to hit a 3 when you need it.

Ben isn't a measurable upgrade over OG defensively.

Re: Marc Stein: Toronto has expressed interest in Ben Simmons
Ideally for us, a trade package would be centered around either FVV or Lowry, adding in Flynn/Boucher/Picks as required. Those pieces should make Philly to truly contend on their end and add some youth back. I think he's been kind of misused the entire time. Or call it a miss opportunity. But Simmons to me could be a great starting 5 in this league. If you can eventually get him to shoot threes that's great but even without it he can spread the floor with his speed.
He can defend any position, and a starting big rotation of OG/Siakam and Simmons that can switch everyone \ sounds pretty great both offensively and defensively. Suggs and either FVV or Lowry round out the starting five.
But then again, since apparently stars are only traded one in a million times I'm not sure Ben can actually be traded.

Re: Marc Stein: Toronto has expressed interest in Ben Simmons
It depends who we get in the draft. If we get Mobley I’d be all over Simmons for something like Lowry sign and trade, GTJ + 1 or 2 future FRPs (with our scouting, our SRPs are practically like FRPs)
Imagine a team of;
Simmons
FVV
OG
Pascal
Mobley
That could be the GOAT defensive team right there. Offense wouldn’t be amazing but I think it’d be better than people think.
If we get Suggs, I don’t see a need for Benjamin.
