I don't think we should even be dealing with Tampa Bay (Raptors) at all. Nor should we deal with Cleveland. Unless either of them are coming off that lotto pick, it's a hard NO for me personally. Fred Van Vleet is a nice player for sure, I like Collin Sexton, but trading Simmons for either of them would be a major "settle" for us if you know what I mean. Switching conferences here, I don't think Minnesota is a viable option either. They don't want to part with Anthony Edwards, they don't want to part with Russell who nobody here likes, I just don't see them as an option either.
This is going to come down to a western conference team that is looking to shift gears and go in a new direction OR...A team that can't attract big name free agents that wants to put fans in the stands. That to me screams Sacramento. Yet again, I keep seeing trade proposals for Buddy Fkn Hield! NO NO NO! That's a terrible offer and i'm sure everyone that isn't a Kings fan knows it. It's going to take D'Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton to make Simmons part of that team. It's as simple as that!
We can play the "if only" game all day, but Simmons has put himself in this situation and he has also put us in a tough spot with his crappy playoff performance. His value now has to be talked back up if that makes sense. Someone is going to bite on this though. It's not a sucker play by any means. Simmons has value, he is an all star, he's very young, he does a lot of things on the basketball court very well and it remains a possibility that he will improve his offensive game. To me...On his "own" team, he's Jason Kidd during his Nets years. That's pretty good and definitely worthy of what we're asking in return for him. These IDIOT T'Wolf fans are just as irritating as the Raptor fans. Now it's Buddy Hield...I'm SMMFH over here. It's going to take a good player for us to let go of Simmons.
You're not selling anyone on the idea of Ricky Rubio and Malik Beasley (who shouldn't even be allowed in the league) for Simmons. Buddy Hield is a one dimensional player that plays no defense and can't do what we need in a playoff setting. Kyle Lowry is older, but unless the fourth pick comes with him, it's a no for me. Fred Van Vleet has killed it with the Raptors, but we can get Patty Mills in free agency who does similar things. Sorry, not trading Simmons for him lol. I hope Morey agrees!
Shai Gilgeous Alexander, Brandon Ingram, D'Aaron Fox, #3 pick, #2 pick (Houston), Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton...These are the names we should be inquiring about. They probably aren't exactly available, but everything and everyone has a price. I actually hate that we're in the position we are in with him. Again..."if only" Simmons would have played the way he was supposed to, the way we've seen him play at times, this would be a non issue.
