Which type of Oreos?

What real star is even in the market? We really only have until July 25th to make a trade anyways. As soon as we use these picks on a player they lose a lot of value. Teams prefer the mystery box of the draft pick. If we get lucky and the player we draft ends up as good as IQ it could help us but that’s usually a rare find in the back half of the draft. So unless a star asks out between the end of the season and before the draft I don’t think it’s wasting an asset.
There'll be guys available by trade deadline. Always is
And they’ll be asking for IQ and our picks from 2022 and 2023. we need to hope that we hit on our two remaining picks to sweeten the pot cuz unless the team is rebuilding they may not want just some random kids.

He's a good scorer that I honestly can't see fitting in well with Randle and Barrett. Some of the same people on here wanting him complained about Randle having sticky fingers. Sexton has that reputation
We need a lead guard that has the skill to create offense. We never needed or wanted Randle to do so.
100% agree but the question here is: "Can Sexton be that lead guard?" Based on his performances ytd - the answer "No". He needs/wants the ball in his hands and definitely is not a ball mover

Lol @ the pizza, but just imagine us having maxed out both Sexton and Randle.... good Lord
realistically, it's unlikely that any of those guys will be a top 10 player. will one even be a top 15 player ? maybe rj or sex will get there, i don't see it, but maybe. and that's a best case scenario. will that ever be good enough ? no. so you need a trade for a real star still and you'd have to give up the rest of your assets to do that. is a team built around top 10 player, randle & sexton good enough ? maybe if there's another pandemic. otherwise, nope.
Not you, and I'm not totally sold on Sexton either, but what are people hoping will happen here?
In no particular order, here are the players who aren't "good enough" for them:
Sexton
Ball
DeRozan
Fournier
And a bunch of others
While I see "Lowry or Conley for 2 years would be great!" and
"Well, we are going to get LaVine"
"OKC will trade us OKC for a bag of chips"
I mean, it's this constant "player X isn't good enough" or some unrealistic trade for a guy the Knicks don't have a shot at, or a very long shot at.
And Lowry and Conley will get 2 years, and then the Knicks are maxing out Randle & RJ and Mitch might get paid and there won't be any money anyway.
So, what is the get people are looking for?
That Graham might be cheaper?
2 years of Dunn?
Draft 3 guys from 19-32?

You're probably right but I'd much rather be patient... I just don't see Sexton playing well with Randle. Lavine or SGA or someone else may ask for a trade. If we deplete our assets here - we're likely to regret it imo

People act like the Knicks have OKC's stash of picks or Ainge's back in the day.
They have their own picks. 19 this year. Probably in the upper/mid 20's for the next 4 years. They've got that sexy Dallas #23 this year.
And probably around #23 in '23. Or worse. And that kick ass #32.
And 4021 #2 picks courtesy of Brock Aller.
Those are what will land a "star"?
Yeah, right.
Oh, and the Knicks cap space will be gone in a year.
Or, they move on from Randle
Is this just boiling down into the tank argument again?

Except for the whole "rarely makes a layup part"

He can create shots...

I'd take a bet that Hyland would be as good for the Knicks as Sexton

I think that’s the problem with some of y’all.. our assets aren’t great to begin with. If we can get Sexton with the proposed package we offered up.. we robbed em.. look at the consensus opinions on the deal on general board and even social media.. we have crap in the way of prospects and picks.. so getting an “actual star” as some of you call it with what we have is a long shot any way
