You absolutely have to try to get a player like Simmons when his value is at an all time low. It’s smart asset management. He can potentially be a valuable trade piece in future trades if he doesn’t fit with our team and I think his value can’t get any worse than what it is at the moment. I personally think he’d flourish in a 5-out offense similar to how the Bucks build around Giannis. I’d actually like to see a front court of OG-Siakam-Simmons, that lineup can switch everything and get a lot of stops/deflections which will initiate the fast break.

Simmons had his career high with Embiid out and they played 5-out.

I can see long time losers like Sacramento, New Orleans, Minnesota etc overpaying for him. Just making the playoffs for these teams would be a success and Simmons could definitely help them achieve that.

No contender is trading their allstar for Simmons.

If Masai is able trade Lowry for Simmons without giving up the 4th pick then just build him a statue already because he is the best in the business.

Yeah anybody who’s trying to make noise in the playoffs won’t trade for Simmons. It’ll have to be somebody very desperate like the Kings/Twolves etc…

Thats why I’m surprised the Raptors are being brought up here. Makes zero sense for us.

Would your fan base be interested in George Hill, Furkan Korkmaz on a 4 year deal, and the #9 pick this year for Lowry?

Just curious.

depends is masai sees someone at 9 they really like, knowing our staff that player would be worth more than lowry in a year. The other 2 guys to me are dead salary

So you're getting #9 from the Kings for Simmons? Hah, that's a better use of their pick than drafting Franz Wagner. I'm not a fan of Hield, but he would let you bring Curry off the bench. With Harrison Barnes, Harris can play more of the 3.

I think Raps would be OK with that.

What if the sixers offered Simmons for Siakim straight up, would you do it?... I'm on the fence.

Yes. Siakam isn't moving any needle and he's in his prime now. Simmons is around the same value but younger and is terrible at something that is probably the easiest basketball skill to get better at.

Who are you planning to trade to get the #9 off the Kings?

No. Replace Siakam with Simmons and our offence goes straight down the toilet. FVV would literally be our only shot creator.

The draft is before free agency so the #9 pick and Lowry sign and trade won't work

Simmons works for a team who has a #1 and #2 option in place who can shoot the 3.

This is where his strengths would shine.

If you can get er done for a lowry S&T you gotta be all over this as it solves our C problem and we pick up next year with our core + Suggs.

I may be in the minority but I actually value Simmons over Siakam because he's younger and shown he can be the "guy" on a winning team while Embiid was out. The fact he struggles in the playoffs is a red flag, but for a relatively minor one given the dysfunctional system he was in under Brown. I really think they just didn't use him or develop him right. I could see him flourishing in our system. That said, losing Spicy P for him seems like a lateral move and I don't really get the rationale in the short term unless the plan is to raise Simmons value and flip again for a rebuild..

Simmons is a DPOY caliber player.. trading for him (if the assets going out are reasonable) should 100% be strongly considered.. trading him for Kyle is a no brainer. How do you not make that move?

No thanks...not interested in Korkmaz in a 4 year deal.

Is there a deal to be had for short term contracts and #9?

So you'd pay max dollars for just a defensive stopper ? People act like he's Ben Wallace in his prime. The fact is Simmons causes more harm than good. If not, the sixers wouldn't be looking to trade him. Who wants to be stuck paying a guy 40 million who can't shoot ?
