Isn't this pretty much our Knicks offseason and a message board to create threads like this?

Plus I figured if "Re: Sexton Convo, Update PG: 15 - Knicks most aggressive suitor" deserved it's own thread well then so does Duncan Robinson and he's also one of my favorite Free Agents to potentially hit the open market and with so many reports of Knicks interest I figured it'll be thread worthy for us as a fan base.

Thoughts on Duncan Robinson?

Pass on him. What he wants as a salary is not worth what he can provide the team.

He isn't good enough to tie up that much money to for 3-4 years for our situation. He is player you go after when you already have your stars and you're looking for that last piece or two. We're not there yet. Continue to take short contracts, build in the draft and young players until you finally get to the point in a year or two where you're ready for a Duncan Robinson-type player.

What do you think he will get? Probably more than mid-level, but if you look at similar guys Kennard and Bertrans you are looking at the 15M area no? Not exactly breaking the bank and if he doesn't crash, he is moveable

18M +
It's going to approach 20 M per. I would not be shocked to see 4/80.

I made this post (below) the other day before I knew there were any real interest.

Our Knicks already have enough of Tom Thibs #1 Defense but what we lack are two things. 1.) A SF and 2.) One of the greatest 3PT shooters who've ever lived to play this game.

C: Mitchell Robinson.
PF: Julius Randle.
SF: Duncan Robinson.
SG: R.J. Barrett.
PG: Lonzo Ball (or Collin Sexton).
6th: Immanuel Quickley.

Where was this against the Atlanta Hawks?

This kid is an absolute KILLER man.

He plays no defense. Do people know he was developed into the player he is today. Why can’t we try to develop knox who more athletic ability in his pinky than this kid. Btw he going want 15 mil a year

Burks played 0 defense and look what happened with thibs, randle was a big negative on defense look what happened. Quick was horrible and got better.

When you have a defensive mastermind you get that man some offense so he can either mask his defense or teach him how to play it while shooting top 3 in the league with 3’s

Exactly man..

He's also not the team "defense killer" that everyone makes him out to be.

I know. Because I made sure to investigate before allowing myself to becoming excited as a Defensive minded Knicks fan of the 1990s.

Miami Heat 2019/2020 season = NBAs 10th ranked Defense (Finals run).

Miami Heat 2020/2021 season = NBAs 5th ranked Defense (Playoff birth).

"Team Defense killer" my ass because both top 10 and top 5 Miami Heat Defenses say hello..

And with New York featuring the NBA's #1 ranked Defense last season and during only coach Thibs 1st year as Knicks defensive minded guro of a head coach?

Our Defense wouldn't miss a single beat with Duncan Robinson @ SF however our Offensive attack (26th) would absolutely skyrocket with a 3PT threat such as Duncan Robinson.

In order to prevent both R.J. Barrett and especially Julius Randle from getting double teamed (because you can not leave Duncan Robinson wide open or else hell murder you from 3) while spreading out opposing Defenses.

Duncan Robinson is the perfect compliment @ SF for Julius Randle @ PF. Because Julius Randle is an excellent passer and playmaking PF and if you cheat against him he'll consistently find Duncan Robinson wide open for momentum 3s.

• Our Defense ranked #1 in points allowed.

• Our Offense ranked #26th in points scored.

• Our Offense ranked #21st in made 3's. 21st

To each our own but I don't like Knicks fans who first crap all over Tom Thibs for a lack of modern day 2020's Offensive basketball; before then becoming the same Knicks fans crapping all over the thought of landing Duncan Robinson (who our Knicks FO is going to go guns blazing over) who's one of the most deadly 3PT shooters of All-Time and top 3 within today's NBA; it's hypocritical imo.

And for all the Knicks fans making fun of Steve Novak? I guess they forgot how in 2012-2013 we were a #2 seed with a top 10 Defense, ranked 6th in 3's made while Steve Novak helped space the court by speeding out opposing Defenses in order to HELP Carmelo Anthony damn near won a scoring title and who absolutely LOVED passing to Steve Novak (Melo had more assists to Novak than any other Knicks player).

Yeah right. Some scrub that sharp shooting Novak really was huh?

I actually think he'd be helpful and would be fine, as long as Knicks get another piece.

But if NYKmentality says Knicks should go for him, Knicks need to run for the hills

Kobe Bryant through his first 160 games:

1759 points, 374 rebounds, 290 assists, 42.5% FG%, 35.4% 3PT%, 80.2% FT%

Duncan Robinson through his first 160 games:

1975 points, 501 rebounds, 234 assists, 45.2% FG%, 42.3% 3PT%, 86.9% FT%

I bet you can't find me 20 6'7, 215 pound SHOOTING GUARDS who scored:

We already have enough Defense we need a deadly shooter @ SF.

Last year was Bullock's 8th year in the league in comparison to Robinson's 3rd NBA season (nice of you to ignore that part).

Robinson: 250 made 3's (.408%).

Reggie: 2020-2021: 163 made 3's (.410%).

You can keep your little difference of .0.098% in 3PT percentage.

Are you really bragging about a difference of literally 0.098%?   wow dude just wow.

PS: Don't you talk about 3PT% and who's better without first acknowledging Duncan Robinson has a CAREER 3PT% of .423% in comparison to your favorite Reggie Bullock CAREER 3PT% of .392%

Nice try.

Lol at saying we have enough defense. Good luck with glorified Steve Novak.

I noticed that you've got both a Melo username and a Melo a Avatar too.

Did you ever watch our 2012-2013 season?

Because I'm really not sure why you're making fun of Steve Novak when...

In 2012-2013 we were a #2 seed with a top 10 Defense (with Novak) and we also ranked 6th in 3's made while Steve Novak helped space the court by spreading out opposing Defenses in order to HELP Carmelo Anthony damn near win a scoring title and who absolutely LOVED passing to Steve Novak (Melo had more assists to Novak than any other Knicks player in 2012-2013).

So I'm really not sure why you're "making fun" of Steve Novak when even your own boy Carmelo Anthony absolutely loved him?

You should be the last Knicks fan/Melo supporter to "make fun of Steve Novak" for the different ways he helped our 3PT shooting offense along with still featuring a top 10 Defense (8th overall) and being loved by your dude Carmelo Anthony....

I actually miss Steve Novak and guess what? I'd absolutely love Duncan Robinson and so would Julius Randle (as Melo once loved and appreciated Steve Novak).

[B ]Steve Novak's two years as a Knick of 2012-2013[/b]
282 made 3's.

Duncan's previous two years as a Heat of 2019-2020
520 made 3's.

Nothing that a Melo fan should be "making fun of".

Why are you a moderator who's "mocking me" and following my every thread and going out of your way to "pick at me"?

When I've sent you 3 PM messages over the past week while asking you what I've ever done to you as a Knicks fan? And also asking what your problem is with me?

You haven't responded once. You've ignored all 3 of my messages but yet you still feel the need to quote me in front of everyone and/or to mock me in front of everyone?

Don't worry man. You don't have to answer me. I studied psychology @ USF and graduated with a degree and I already know the answer man.

You're refusing to respond to my PMs because...

A.) One on one in PM you can no longer "make fun of me" without putting on a show for all of your RealGM friends online.

B.) Man to man in PM you can no longer "mock me" without putting on a show for all of your real GM friends to laugh @ me online.

C.) One on one and man to man in PM you can no longer attempt to "belittle me" in front of all your RealGM buddies to HaHa laugh @ me.

D.) All of the above is not only childish but also cowardly it's like a gang members in NY who's a tough guy in front of his gangster friends but yet an absolute sissy boy when he's no longer surrounded by his gang.

I've even gone out of my way to ignore you but yet the ignore/foe button wouldn't work because you're a moderator and I've even asked an awesome mod who's always been kind to me (won't mention his name) to please talk to you for me in order to get you off my back because I'm here to talk basketball and sports in general and not here to me mocked and picked on by the same Knicks fan/mod who I congratulated and embraced/welcomed with open arms @ becoming a mod as a poster who's been here years before, even you.

And I'm sorry but it's disgusting and disheartening to me because I've tried everything from trying to place you on ignore to sending you PMs in order for you to just stop whatever you're trying to do to me as a Knicks fan and more importantly as a good person and loving father. It's not right man and I won't cry victim over a message board but I'll continue to question your antagonist ways until you stop.

I put this in big font in order so you can not ignore my message to you as you've ignored all of my PMs while still going out of your way to mock me and belittle me in front of my own fan base.

These jokes are reaching into meme territory. They are getting more and more elaborate and NYK isn’t backing down coming back with the ether. Very entertaining.

Return to New York Knicks
