Mobley doesnt have a motor issue. He plays hard and dominates but not in a 'KG' way. Moreso a Duncan way. If that makes sense.

Agreed. There are many games on youtube you can watch where he isn't super passive and goes out of his way to throw it down on someones head. I don't think the USC offense gave him the reigns enough honestly.

Tim Duncan vibes. A silent assassin.

Is there a comparison to be made between Dwight Howard and Jericho Sims? Where does Sims go if this was 2004 and he was a high school senior?

If Jericho Sims did this at age 18, he'd go top 20 pick but he's a college senior so hence the 2nd rd-undrafted range.

Even his USC performance shows that he leaves it all on the court. People forget that he dragged them to the Elite 8, where they lost to Suggs and the 'Zags. Duncan has come up in this thread, but there are tons of guys who let their games do the talking without being overly expressive or yappy. Kawhi is a freaking robot on the court.

Why are you all talking about Mobley's demeanor? The video I'm taking about is pointing to Mobley's effort level on the court - particularly aggressiveness on offense.

He was pretty deferential to his teammates on offense. There were moments where Mobley took over but for the most part he played the team game he was asked to play, he's highly unselfish. My only concern with him as it pertains to his motor, is in the rebounding department, but I think that's more of a strength issue at this stage.

We just explained it to you. You asked about his motor and I told you he has a strong one and plays hard/will throw it down your throat if he has to. But he's more in the mold of guys like OG/Duncan where they kill you with their IQ/Talent/Hard work.

Does he lack assertiveness at times on Offense? Sure, but he's 19 and in college and a big. Anthony Davis had the same thing at Kentucky but that was due to not getting enough touches on offense/more structured college game/ - which is what also happend here with Mobley. Mobley was also a great passer and creator this past season. This is a minor thing.

Point of my post was that I actually watched USC's games and the video is extremely selective. Maybe I should have emphasized that I was including his aggressiveness on offense.

For example, he had a nice stretch (including a game vs. a State rival) in January where USC actually did a better job of finding him in the halfcourt. Lots of detail here if you like:

https://247sports.com/college/usc/Article/USC-basketball-recap-California-Evan-Mobley-aggressive-attacking-159835715/

Not worried about him being assertive on offense at all, especially on the Raps, where Nurse even turned YUTA into somebody who looks for his shot.

Honestly I watched all 40 minutes of Mobley play vs Oregon and he was not assertive whatsoever. I was not impressed. But somehow he managed to average 16 PPG so who knows.

Detroit is taking Cade
Houston is taking Green
Cleveland is taking Mobley
Toronto is taking Suggs

Thats how I see it ending up in the draft, Mobley is gone by the 4th pick.

No because that's just the opinion of some random Youtuber.

All he said at the end of the video was if Mobley's motor *keeps running*, he'll be an all-star level big. Even went on to say all he needs is an "average" motor to do so.

The quote about contact is more to do with his strength rather than his energy imo.

PDWeb and Rick O'Donnell did a full breakdown of Mobley's game for those who want to watch. PDWeb only has a few video breakdowns of some prospects in this draft. Hoping he can produce more.

Same thing could have been said about like a million other players who had great physical measurements but never panned out.

Not at all, Barnes is a solid rebounder, finishes at the rim well, plays good defense with the measurements to improve to be a great defender. He also is an incredible passer/creator who doesn't turn it over. He is super skilled and plays very intelligently, but without the shot.
