Someone needs to tell me why you don't walk Hunter Pence to load the bases, at least Wiggington is a double play threat....Matt Wise is horrible, I have seen faster pitches thrown at a home run contest, why not go with Capuano, at least he pitched well his last outing...........its also incredibly stupid to take out one of your best hitters for defense when you have a 1 run lead with an aweful bullpen........Melvin deserves as much heat as yost for that bullpen, that will be what cost the Brewers a playoff birth.

Agreed with this as well. Let's say that Pence hits a slow roller to 3rd, you know you have to tag him which is really hard, concentrating getting the ball in your glove and then turning to apply the tag. If you load the bases and the same thing happens then you can just go to home for the force.

I do agree with this, although of course I could pull several posts from you guys all year to this effect:

"Doesn't Ned learn that Bush is horrible in the 6th and 7th?"""

But I was sort of surprised Bush got the hook at the start of the inning without giving up baserunners.
I am not one of thoses guys. But the other guys got on Yost case when he left him in too long. Two or three guys getting on. Here he didnt even give him a chance. Plus like someone else said before Turnbow is complete garbage when pitches on back to back nights with an ERA over 7. Does Yost know that?

Yup. I would agree with you and titan here, and also to make .270 guy beat you as opposed to a .320 guy, rookie or not.

Also was anybody really pissed about Yost having Hart sacrifice bunt? He's one of our hottest hitters, let him swing.

Can you tell me why he left Wise in so long? It was like Yost was conceding this game. If we lose this division by a few games you can blame Yost for he has cost us more than a couple of games with his poor management.

Yep.
He was the best hitter out of the three coming up. At the end of the game the Brewers lineup was a mess. Yost over managed. Whats new. In all the times Braun went out of the game how many balls when to third? Not many. Braun could made that crappy throw that whoever made it. Great defensive throw.

The one where he almost beat it?

No. That was agreat play by the pitcher to even get one. (Unless I'm mistaken and it was another bunt)

In fact, I am pleased with the more bunting Hart has been doing lately, and it has helped.

So come on in infield, and let Corey rip one right past you then.

No I am talking about the throw that Counsell made that pulled Prince off the bag.
Thats why I dont like subbing for Braun at third.

So according to Ned.

Bush was "gassed" from running from 1st to 3rd in the 7th.

Had McClung, Aquino, King and Capuano in the bullpen. Wouldn't use Cordero unless the Brewers took the lead. :noway:

ned's always got an excuse, doesn't he? but i can always reroute it to make it ned's fault: if bush was really tired from the running, then it is ned's fault for not conditioning his players well enough. also, he should be aware by this point that dave bush cannot run 180 feet without collapsing afterward--therefore yost should have had the foresight not to put him out there in the first place.

isn't it disturbingly alarming that this is what ned considers 'managing every game like it's the playoffs'?

Turnbow never should've been in the game as Yost should know by now that he's terrible when he comes in with inherited runners. Linebrink was getting it done but then they went to Scott, Yost went to Shouse and then Cooper went with whoever the hell the right handed guy was.

What exactly was Linebrink getting done? He gave up two hits and a walk in less than an inning.

Again, I agree that Yost isn't very good, but I hate it when he is blamed for EVERYTHING, ala Stotts.

Bottom line--Linebrink, Shouse, Turnbow 2IP 5hits allowed, two walks, no strikeouts.

Now you guys can nitpick about Ned all day long, and I agree with alot of it, but thats the bottom line.

He got the DP, then Counsell got the ball at 3rd and made a bad throw to Fielder, then he walked Ransom and got taken out. If the great defender Craig Counsell makes a throw he's supposed to make then Linebrink is out of the inning.

I think he is the ideal set up man for our system.
