This is just another example of fans can't understand that so much of basketball is variance. Not "clutch" not "heart" not "emotion" not "someone's mental", and certainly not "chocking". This guy is a highly inconsistent and volatile player who had great games and awful games. It's just the nature of his style and game. If you have good and bad games this frequently, of COURSE you're going to have big games when your team is down....they're down because of your bad games.

And pretty much this is what happens with every Robin in the NBA. Bucks need Middleton to win them at least one game per series. He delivers. The superstar (Giannis) will get the rest. Jrue might get one of his too. That's how Big 3s are constructed. The Midds of this world should be more loved for the one great game than hated for the one awful game. If Middleton wasn't inconsistent he would be at KD level. I won't blame him for not being KD. This isn't what he is asked for. Bucks have Giannis to perform every **** night.

But he’s paid max money to perform every single night. He deserves **** when he doesn’t perform. Good for him last night but the Bucks would be up 3-1 if the bloke turns up every single night. Hope it continues

EVERYONE gets paid max money in the league. Every rookie gets the max. Most even good rookies get extended at the max. Max is a meaningless term. Unless you're making the "super max" you're not expected to be a superstar.

He has leveled up for sure in my mind during this playoff run.
If he could just figure out how to get to the FT strip a little more and get couple of AND 1's he'd be close to the 30 PPG range and getting a lot more attention.
We need a Middleton signature dunk too before this series ends.

Who really cares about all this? He's wildly inconsistent and only plays well routinely at home. He's been a disaster on the road.

If Middleton didn't play like @ss in the other 12 games the Bucks wouldn't have been in those do-or-die situations.
Uhhhh...teams routinely put their best perimeter defender on him. He has been the focus of the Suns defense and they did a good job limiting his shots in the first couple of games.
He’s an all star second rounder who has overachieved his whole career. Give me a break with this take.

Win or lose the Bucks need to get a fourth player that can create his own offense. The best bet is to move Lopez and DiVincenzo in a trade or sign and trade. You can’t be **** depending on Khris Middleton to save your ass in the playoffs. Shaq had Penny, Kobe and Wade. Kareem had Magic and Oscar. KG had Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rondo. Giannis has Khris Middleton?
Just looking at the home and road splits shows how perilous it is depending on Middleton to be your go to closer. All due respect to Middleton he’s stepped up, but what happens when you face more capable teams in the playoffs?

I dont disagree in that the Bucks dont seem to have a pure playmaker. Jrue, Khris and Giannis have inconsistent handles dribbling through the defense. Of the three, Giannis seems the most reliable with finishes and passes to open guys.
But they are 2-2 in the finals. What are we talking about in terms of more capable teams? Every team has flaws. A healthy Nets team? That might be too much for any team.

Man how cool would it be if he didn't suck in every other game and he wouldn't put his team on the break of elimination shooting them out of the other games

I like that you misspelled every single one of those players names. It adds something to the post, I can't pinpoint exactly what but it's better for it.

Who were the defensive stoppers locking down Middleton on the Nets and Hawks?
Middleton shot 59 TS% in the RS. In more than half his games in the PS he's shooting 48 TS%. There's no justification for an "All-Star" dropping 11 percentage points in TS% from the regular season to the playoffs.
Nobody cares if he's drawing the other team's best perimeter defender. The Bucks aren't paying him $36M/year to pretend to be an All-Star in the regular season.

Re: Khris Middleton in do or die games these playoffs
He is underrated. Looking at his #s earlier this year I was very surprised he wasn't in the all star game. He wasn't too far off last year's #s and had more assists, and he was quite a bit better than 2 years ago, both all star years.
The east had a bit more competition than usual, but still should have made it.

Devin Booker has one more sub 40% shooting playoff game this season than Khris Middleton and last week there was a thread asking if he was a bonafide superstar. Middleton has been absolutely massive in big moments throughout the postseason. The amount of slander he receives is ridiculous.

We're talking about Middleton. Doesn't matter about Booker. Middleton is shooting 43% this entire playoffs where he has emerged as "Batman." He shot 33% on the road against BKN, around 47% on the road against ATL (decent!) and less than 41% on the road against PHX. That's ludicrously offensive to put him up on any pedestal. He's not reliable unless the Bucks have homecourt. However, he could very well reverse this in the next 3 games (if it goes 7) , and if he does, he deserves FMVP. Just judging on what we've seen so far.
