It's not like we're making the decision. People get too attached to this chit. I got faith in the FO. If they think Barnes is the pick, then i think he'll be amazing. Ditto for Suggs or even Kuminga, my preferences aside.

Suggs is the better fit for the raptors if you're trying to win now. I think masai might have different plans.

Barnes at 4 is a reach. That said...I don't mind if Cleveland reaches because that's what they do.

The Assists rates lol Suggs is a more natural PG Barnes will not be running PG for a team for 30 Mins...He will be a PF/SF Who can run the ball up the court at times... so he will have the ball in his hands more in the NBA and its not like Barnes is a way better passer than Suggs either ...I can make the Case Suggs is a much more polished passer and runs the half court offense much better at the PG position

Now the rest of the things i listed in this list can you say Barnes is better than Suggs as the all around player? No you cannot

I just know if the draft doesnt go exactly the way some want, the amount of doom & gloom on this thread will be unbearable. Thats why I'm at peace with however the FO drafts. Better for your health.

That being said, I like Suggs, I like Mobley...ect... so I'll be glad eitherway.

And the most likely based on what we can know about this process while not being directly involved, is that we are getting either 1 of suggs, green or mobley, depending on how the teams draft ahead of us.

The Assists rates lol Suggs is a more natural PG Barnes will not be running PG for a team for 30 Mins...He will be a PF/SF Who can run the ball up the court at times... so he will have the ball in his hands more in the NBA and its not like Barnes is a way better passer than Suggs either ...I can make the Case Suggs is a much more polished passer and runs the half court offense much better at the PG position

Now the rest of the things i listed in this list can you say Barnes is better than Suggs as the all around player? No you cannot

neither of us know what masai wants. it's going to come down to whether MLSE will allow masai to rebuild. if they do, then barnes has the higher ceiling and would be the better pick at 4.

if you draft suggs, he is a perfect fit for the raps with lowry leaving, but does that pick alone make you a competitor in the east next season? suggs isn't that good of a shooter. you're not that much better off than this past season with a starting line up of suggs/fvv/OG/pascal/FA.

I don't think masai is looking for another shot at the play-in tournament. he has said he is here to win championships. he might just take the player with the higher ceiling and hope he develops a shot.

barnes would easily be the #1 pick in the draft if he could shoot. masai and the scouts will have to gamble on him developing his shot in the raptors system.

either way, I will trust masai and the FO and root for whomever they pick.

Robbins: What are the chances that Gonzaga guard Suggs will be available at No. 5? And if he is still on the board, should the Magic draft him?

Vecenie: You definitely get differing views if Suggs gets past Toronto at No. 4. From everything I’ve learned, Toronto is certainly looking at guys like Barnes and Kuminga with that pick, in addition to the top-four names. Plus, trades always happen. So I don’t think it’s out of the question Suggs could fall to No. 5 by any stretch. The Magic should absolutely be doing their due diligence.

If for some reason he would fall to No. 5, I’d sprint to the podium for him. Having said that, though, I have him at No. 2 on my personal board. I’m an enormous fan of his. I love how well-rounded he is as a prospect in addition to his mentality and demeanor. I love how tough he is defensively when he’s locked in. I love his offensive upside out of ball screens and his ability to drive play in transition due to his athleticism. His vision is terrific and he’s going to be able to live at the rim in the NBA. He also has the kind of personality that wants the ball in the final moments of a game.

We’ll see, though. I do tend to operate under the idea that teams tend to make rational decisions more often than the public seems to think. And to me, Suggs is just such a natural fit with all of the organizations from No. 2 through No. 4. It’s hard to see him getting past there for my money.

Robbins: Which players should the Magic focus on for the eighth pick, and why?

Vecenie: Moses Moody stands out to me in a big way. He fits what the Magic look for as a 6-6 wing with a 7-foot-1 wingspan. He’s considered a high-character kid. But more importantly, he made 3s at a high rate and shows some real potential off of movement and relocation shots. He’d likely be the player at the top of my board for this pick if I was Orlando.

I have James Bouknight at No. 7 on my board, and believe he’s a real swing for some organization as a shot creator. He has a lot of overlap with Hampton, and both of them are going to have to learn to make decisions out of ball screens that make plays for their teammates. But Bouknight puts pressure on the rim and is one of the few guys in this draft who I have full faith in to go get his shot when he’s on an island with his defender.

Alperen Sengun is an interesting player as well here just due to his ability to score. He won the Turkish League MVP as a teenager this year, which is a ridiculous achievement in one of the best European leagues. He has a great feel for the bucket as a scorer, and those who have been in the gym with him see him as a potential shooter long term. I don’t think it would be a wild pick to take him at No. 8, although I do tend to value perimeter players with top-10 picks more than bigs.

Finally, I like Josh Giddey a reasonable amount for an upside swing for the Magic. He might take a bit of time, but he is something they don’t have right now: a big, tall (6 foot 8) ball mover who has a bit more positional versatility than some of their guards. Giddey would help foster more ball movement on an offense that has the potential to get a bit stagnant with Anthony and Hampton taking on big roles. I also think he’s going to shoot it at some point, but it might take a couple of years.

Lol but how does Barnes have a higher ceiling than Suggs does? Based on what exactly? Cause i just made a full list of things Suggs is better than Barnes at already?

What makes you think Barnes can develop better than Suggs can when Suggs is already more skilled than Barnes at the same age? ...Suggs will also get better and better as time goes on....If you are saying Suggs isn't that good of a shooter than your basically saying Barnes is the worst shooter you have seen....Suggs is more of an attack the rim type of player but in no way is his jumpshot broken like Barnes is...

Now that being said Suggs is the already overall better player so your basing this "Ceiling" on his Physic alone cause skill wise Suggs is better....
