At this point it seems to be Kuminga or whoever Presti like the most at 6

It seems like at worst, Bouknight will be a good scorer off the the bench which should allow him to stay in the leauge. Kuminga is one of those guys that could flame out completely or be the best player in the draft. It sucks that there doesn't feel like a more sure option at number six.

I'm at the point where I think I'd rather us take the home run swing at 6, whoever they think that will be. We're going to be bad again next year regardless of who we pick. I am surprised Barnes is getting such a serious look by the Magic, he doesn't seem to fit with their current crop of players at all. They're going to have worse spacing than us somehow.

Besides Kuminga, who else is there that you consider a home run swing?

Assuming Barnes is gone, I think the home run swings would be guys like Kuminga, Jalen Johnson, Giddey, Sengun. Kuminga is who I think of as the biggest boom or bust for sure. I really like Moody/Wagner as sure thing role players at minimum, but want to take a big swing if we stay at 6 if even it's an 80% chance it doesn't work out.

yeah I want to move up with 16 and 18 to get Giddey or Sengun but would still gamble with Kuminga at 6. Giddey might fall to somewhere we could draft with moving up with other picks.

I think "homerun swing" might be getting conflated with "boom or bust" but maybe that's just differing opinions on certain guys. Moody is still a homerun swing in my eyes because I think he's got All Star level upside as a shot creator and not just as a play finisher. Inversely, I think Giddey/Sengun are homerun swings too but I have a tough time seeing either of them bust out of the league just because of their high level of polish and skill.

With so many American players craving to be in a big or glamour type market, I have to think that Presti wouldn't mind a Kuminga, Sengun and Duarte trio at 6, 16 & 18. I'm hesitant about Giddey given that they have the rights to Micic and Krecji who are both PG's.

Feels like we don't have enough picks

How many players do you think we will draft even if we don't move up with #6? (not counting pick 55)

Drafting 3 FRPs could be really expensive long term so I'm not sure it will happen...

I don’t see Micic ever playing in the nba.

I see us drafting 4 players max if 5th maybe that 5th will be a G-League feature until the all star break .

On the flip side if you draft someone you want them to be expensive eventually.

And if everyone is just too expensive you can always trade them away before they are RFA

With Bouknight, I just don't know. I see the strengths. I fear the weaknesses. I definitely think his floor makes sure he won't be a total bust in the NBA. I guess I wonder how much Presti looks at number six and really believes in that player or he sees a massive drop off after the top 5. We'll never know the answer to that.

Even if Bouknight's ceiling is borderline all star and not superstar, that's still an important piece on a contender and leaves us with lots of assets left to find a true superstar. I can see how his development could be completely different based on what franchise drafts him.

For some reason, I would feel a lot better about Bouknight at 6 if we managed to trade up and grab Moody too.

You really have to hate Kuminga's mindset/work ethic/personality to draft Bouknight over him IMO.

Bouknight is probably a better fit on our actual squad and likely gonna have a better rookie year but Kuminga is 2 years younger and his ceiling is so much higher.

Kuminga floor is out of the league though.

Suggs 99,9% of the time.

Suggs won't fall to us. I just don't see how it can happen. No reason for Toronto OR Orlando to pass on him.

yeah that's why Orlando has a small chance to get Suggs. Two teams making such a big mistake? No way :(

Just got a chance to listen. Nothing was said that was too significant. He was complimentary of okc. Said he was there with 5 guys for three days. Models games after Chris Paul but not as vocal (yelling) at teammates. After watching his highlights, I’m ok with taking him at sixteen.
