Zerostatic wrote:LOL at people that think Knox has any trade value. I'd rather sign the best available GLeague player than keep Knox. Also Obi and #19 for Sexton is a steal for us. I like Obi as a person but he has shown no signs that he is more than a easily replaceable bench player. Sexton averaged over 24 ppg on solid shooting percentages. He has wrecked havoc on several NBA teams this year. I'm sure the Cavs want RJ but I wouldn't do that even though honestly they are probably similar in value (and that is factoring in RJ's slightly higher potential and Sexton's character issues).

I agree with all of this. Obi doesn’t look good. I say we trade him before all his value goes away like Frank and Knox. If we strike out on better guards, I say pull this trigger with the quickness. Just don’t give Sexton $30 mil.

How many times over the years have we felt "Oh, the Heat aren't positioned to make a/that trade" and then they make that trade/some other gigantic trade?

Riley must be VERY persuasive.

Probably a combination of Riley being very persuasive, the Heat never being that far away from being good because of a good FO, and probably that Riley hires really good people for the FO, so they know all the cap implications etc, and usually can make a move, or are only a fairly easy move away from a move.
Also, South Beach and no state taxes.
But the 2nd hasn't helped the Magic..

It’s funny watching teams negotiate through the press. Also Cavs you’ll get 21&32 and like it. Also if they go Mobley, I wonder what that means for Allen? Maybe and sign and trade with the hornets? They need a big.

Knicks have a separate deal to get a first. That’s the Only way They cave and trade both 1sts while keeping Obi. Cavs should take a first and a second instead

Right, they trade train gets derailed if Dame says he wants NY. Dames a great player but I want the Knicks to trade for Collin as a way to keep talent we have. As an alternative to building around what we have. Instead of gutting the roster. I don’t see RJ staying if we trade Dame. Hope we get to keep him

Hopefully Dame being out there doesn’t freeze everything until he gets dealt.. I personally would rather get Sexton and mind our business

Did we not learn our lesson from the Carmelo trade. Dame is going cost us everything and plus some more

As weird as it sounds what if Dame not winning I’d a weird dame thing? Can’t win with Portland, can’t win with team USA ?? If we guy the roster for dame and it doesn’t work? There will be Derrick rose chants in the Garden

^^ that’s my thought as well Dame wasn’t winning much in Portland, a gutted roster and Randle is a down grade, if I’m NY ima Knick Cleveland’s door down while everyone else is waiting for Dame

I dunno. The Blazers have been a good team. They are a bit like Melo's Nuggets. Very solid but without a second great player. Most years they exceed expectations.

If Team USA falters maybe there's something.

I think it would be tough to build a great team with him here though. Would rather he stay in Portland and battle.

Personally I feel it is to early to give up on Obi. I think Thibs has a good record with Bigs and Obi can hit the three. Athletic big with a three ball could prove invaluable in the long run. I would rather give up two firsts and use my cap to get another pick for the player I want. That or play hardball for them to take a first and the highest second we have

I was pleasantly surprised with Obi’s defensive improvement. It would be nice if we could make him the center of the future or be able to get away with small ball for some periods of time.
