Boucek coached the Fever announcer when she played in Seattle. Aldridge has a long segment on her on an old theAthletic piece mostly about Covid. She is heavy into sports psychology.

Scott Agness has a pretty good write up on the new staff at his Fieldhouse Files site on Substack. I’ve subscribed for a month or two and been pretty happy with it. Will likely re-up for a year.

I don’t know how many coaches NBA teams have but supposedly they have 4 bench assistants which I assume were the 4 announced and then 4 or more behind bench ? Anyone know the status of the Pacers full staff ?

Agness reports that the 3 player development coaches and the video coordinator will return. Marsh, Cheaney, Baker, and DeBusk. Cal is the only one I know anything about.

Thanks I like that Carlisle didn’t keep any of Nate 2 assistants. Fresh start for players is a good deal so no excuses.

I believe 3 assistants can be on the main bench, the rest behind. Boucek will be on the back bench, reportedly.

Interesting young group. I've been reading and watching videos about them last night and I think each one fits a specific purpose. Collectively, they look like specialists. Already better on paper than what Nate Bjorkgren had, IMO.

It is sour that people making small errors had to go for people who will also make small errors.

While the man making the biggest errors throws another drastic lifeline to justify his flawed leadership and assembled flawed player roster.

Pritchard has to step it up, both in leadership and roster management, but my guess is that Rick is already marking his territory beyond coaching duties. Which is good, the group needs and gets the best possible leader.

There are too many coaches I remember playing in the league for my comfort.

Make it 2002 again.

There are too many players whose fathers we saw play. I wonder if there are grandkids playing.

Edit. Google has names of grandchildren in baseball and nascar.

That article tells me that Goga is probably done even if he stays on the roster.

It's a bit of a leap but Rick coveted Jackson, Goga is immature, and he makes boneheaded decisions.

The rest of it, eh. Not great but if the biggest issues are yelling at a scrub for getting two techs and souring quickly on a prospect who never learned to do anything but jump, I don't see a major problem. We know he can be a jerk but this seems like just more organization issues overall (not that Indy is innocent there).
