Damn. Obi is going to go from backing up Randle to backing up Mobley?

I wonder what the Dame trade request does to Sexton's trade value. Decrease because of less suitors now? Or increase because only one team (maybe) gets Dame and now other teams are thirsty for a scoring guard?
I'm warming up on Sexton now, given what I think our coaching staff can do in developing him further

Not a terrible fallback if we lose out on Dame but he probably doesn't attract another Superstar as Dame would but it leaves us cap flex for another Soupstah next offseason.

Riley must be VERY persuasive.
Probably a combination of Riley being very persuasive, the Heat never being that far away from being good because of a good FO, and probably that Riley hires really good people for the FO, so they know all the cap implications etc, and usually can make a move, or are only a fairly easy move away from a move.
Also, South Beach and no state taxes.
But the 2nd hasn't helped the Magic..
Orlando was a legitimate destination for TMac and Grant Hill. It’s hard to overcome the stigma of a bad front office, and Orlando has made a bunch of questionable moves over the last few years.
Just like Portland used to be an attractive place for free agents, it’s hard to draw any names when the subsequent moves to surround them with the appropriate talent aren’t likely to be impressive.
These teams really need to think about whether their current front office is working and moving the team in the right direction, or risk wasting years of valuable time building the right team. We should know.

nothing at all, teams gunning for dame weren't even looking at sexton, and teams looking at sexton know their place

Sounds like to me macri is trying to get credit if the Knicks get Sexton. He waited for the shams report. Sneaky guy. We all know damn well he ain’t got no connections to the front office. He’s been wrong on every rumor he’s created

With all due respect, we have no clue what teams want who. There are always some left field surprises.. We extrapolate from the scraps thrown to us on twitter

No way. You know Miami always has their eyes on stars and so do the Knicks. Philly is a new entrant into the Dame sweepstakes though.

So, who is everyone's choice to pair at the other wing with Sexton & RJ?

Depends on how the draft goes (and what picks we have to give up for Sexton), but I'd probably just bring Bullock back on a 1 year deal
The goal should be to remain competitive this year, then bring in a star FA next year. Hope Sexton/RJ develop and Randle doesn't drop off. Plus we could go over the cap to bring Mitch back (if we want to) in that scenario, so Sexton/RJ/Max wing/Randle/Mitch with Quick and maybe Rose off the bench. I think that's a pretty solid team, depending on how good Sexton/RJ become, and if Randle stays consistent.
BaF Lakers:
Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela
Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

So that blows up the Lonzo Ball idea.
Or, Lonzo Ball blows up the idea of another max cat next year. He'd be the other max cat.
I guess it depends on the intel WWW has and how confident the team is they can add that wing that compliments Sexton/RJ/Randle.

If you get Ball, you're being very bullish on how good a big 3 of Randle/Sexton/RJ could be
I like Lonzo, and he'd be an excellent fit as a playmaking 3-D guard, but we should save our cap for next year and not pay him or Duncan Robinson.

a team with sexton, rj and randle won't be good offensively. none of them are perimeter focused. it's a bad trio together. if you really want sexton, you should get rid of 1 of the other two.

That was my point of the thread I created a few weeks ago.
Having two inefficient scorers in our line-up (RJ and Randle) who are not rim-runners really hurts our offense. It inevitably puts a ceiling on this team.
I just don't like the fit. It's not that they can't co-exist, it's just that the addition of both players makes it incredibly difficult to have a potent offense.
Ideally, the front office would trade one of the two. I personally think Randle is harder to build around, and we have a replacement in Obi, so I would trade Julius before RJ. I don't think the FO will trade either though.
