Incredible all the support he's getting from teammates current and past. Is this a free camp he puts on out of kindness or one he's making money off of?

Well, he’s got plenty to choose from!

$250. But I don’t think players on max deals do this for the money, so I’d say “kindness.” The $250 probably just covers the facility, t-shirts, staff and insurance.

Thanks. I think there should be scholarships available for those that can't afford it. Easy to say it's not my money.

Nope. I don't care about participation ribbons. I just think it would be so nice if poor people could attend Camp DLo also. I know life isn't always fair and there will always be haves and have nots.

I think it’s better if people are accountable for themselves and do what they can afford. A DLo camp is a **** investment for anyone

This is a kids thing, which means it’s mostly about what parents can afford and very little about kids accountability. I have no idea whether DLo’s camp is a worthwhile endeavor but it seems weird to criticize giving the opportunity for poorer kids to participate.

Is it good to give poorer kids opportunities? Of course. $250 isn't a crazy amount for a 4-day camp when all is said and done though. These events aren't cheap to run.

No, it’s a parent thing … can’t afford it? don’t go. Want to go? Save your money. Why a poor person thinks paying $250 to a multi-millionaire for a camp to start with is smart is beyond me.

That’s the idea behind a scholarship. Giving kids who can’t afford it the opportunity.
It seems like you’re suggesting kids should only have opportunities if their parents can afford it.

I think you’re missing that he’s saying the opposite.

The ages are 6-17. While it may be impossible for a six year old to earn $250, there has probably never been a moment in the last 50 years when it would easier for a 17 year old to make $250. I worked a number of kid jobs as a 10 year old, and $250 was never an unreachable number. And this is certainly not something my parents would have bought for me as a present. It’s doable.

I lean conservative, but some people are born with almost no chance. A little help along the way could make all the difference.

I couldn’t have said it any better, KG.

There are always ways, if it's something you care enough about. Many places probably have grants and scholarships. You just have to be willing to put in the work.

I don't know if there are always ways, but usually there are. Grants and scholarships were what I was hoping for.
