his exit velocity/barrel rate is the best in the entire farm syste, he consistently squares the ball and hits it very hard ala alonso.

to me the untouchables are alvarez, baty, mauricio, rocker, and allan -- jt ginn should also be untouchable but he can go if need be.

You wanna make a move for Bryant?

for a rental that usually injured?

Currently, Kris Bryant is hitting better away from Wrigley.

What are our options?

Josh Donaldson - 2 years 42 million left with a club option on his 3rd year

Or look at 2B and move McNeil to 3rd?
Johnathan Schoop - Free agent after this season; agent is Scott Boras
Adam Frazier - One more Arbitration year then free agent

Then we also might need a pitcher since the following pitchers are down.
Carrasco - rehabbing this Thursday in Brooklyn I believe. Hopefully end of July/August
Syndergard - going back to throwing after shutting down. ETA early September
Luchessi - out for year rotator cuff
Yamammoto - on 60 day DL
Peterson - hurt and hasn't been good
Szapucki - out for season

We don't need a star pitcher but a guy that can go 6 innings and yes I would go for rentals on pitchers.

No to that psycho Donaldson. I'm not crazy about moving McNeil to 3B. Let Luis and Villar handle that.

Szapucki is out for the season? When, how, what? I did not know this. :noway: Poor kid.

My feeling is we need more pitching than hitting. I think our hitters will hit. Our lineup is solid pretty much up and down the order, if they hit like they normally do and it looks like they're beginning to all get in sync.

But maybe we can do both.

We can definitely do both. Cohen said that if they are going over the luxury tax, it won't be by a little. They will go over it by a lot because whether it's 1 dollar or 50 million over. You will be tagged as a first time offender.

But if we were to choose one, you're right we would probably have to go with pitching.

Also, to point out that there's a bit more competition for starting pitchers now right?

With Bauer on leave, Dustin May out for year.. they are pretty thin as well.

I think we have to come back and win tomorrow's game and not overreact to this one loss as badly as it sucked and man, did it suck.

Right and there's more buyers than sellers right now. Just looking at the Dodgers and seeing how severe the injury to Mookie Betts will just add more fuel to fire for Dodgers to buy.

Lindor's is just sad because the last 2 months he has been hitting very well and we were finally getting back our opening day lineup. Sigh.

True about Lindor but JD Davis came back just in time and delivered two 2-run HRs yesterday in his first start. So while it sucks that we don't have our full-compliment of players, once again, it could always be worse. Maybe we give Ronnie Mauricio a look at the position?

after going down 6-0 in the 1st inning I really thought the season was on the brink

great job from the guys to battle back and beat the pirates (who do suck). But at this point this win was very important with all the sh*t they have been dealing with in terms of crappy losses and injuries.

im not trading any of our top 8 prospects for Bryant

they can have JD and a 10th ranked guy or so.

Bryant is getting QO'd in the offseason so assuming he Gets a multiyear deal (he should obviously) hes worth a compensation pick in next draft. JD is proven and still has a few arb years left. Without being able to offer JD I'd expect that Bryant is worth atleast a 1 top 5 prospect from your organization.

Mets claimed Roel Ramirez off of waivers from the Cardinals and will head to AAA Syracuse

The good thing is Hill has experience in the playoffs and as a guy that can come out of the bullpen. If we go into the playoffs healthy he can just move right into that second lefty role with Loup which will be pretty valuable. That Jon Neise role that he played in the post season.

Didn't really give up anything outside of a defensive catcher that at best projects as a backup in the majors.
