Gregg Popovich: We've Been Preparing For France For Two Years

The United States will open Olympic pool play on Sunday against France. Depending on when the Finals end and travel schedule, Team USA could play that game with just nine players.

"We've been preparing for France for two years," Gregg Popovich said on Sunday. "I think about it every day."

Team USA will add Jrue Holiday, Devin Booker and Khris Middleton upon the completion of The Finals.

Interesting that Pop says he's been thinking about the Olympics every day for the last two years. Maybe he should've been thinking about the Spurs (the organization that actually pays him) for the last two years as they have been hot garbage the last few years. Amen to that. I am not going to take away his past success just because he had TD, Manu and Kwahi et all, but he is really being exposed as a coach/manager the past few years. Like when he was blowing off the exhibition loses it came across like a kid who would say “i wasnt really trying” after losing an online game.

I think team usa after the finals will have enough fire power to win gold, but if they do it will be in spite of Coach Pop not because he did anything special as a coach.
