Did he mention who the other guys were?

Nope. I was wondering the same thing.

The ringer had a mock draft the other day that had us taking barns at 6, Jackson at 16, and Cooper 18 and the justification was sort of we've got a small a wing and a big there and I was like hey that seems kind of makes sense in a sort of way.

Not sure what to think of Jackson. I hear a wide range of opinions on him.

Give me Garuba. Seen enough. Insane what he's doing at his age. Could be seriously special.

I get a Nerlens Noel best case vibe there.

Give him to you at what pick? Doesn't seem like he'll be there at 16. Where do you think he goes?

I'm still fascinated by the Barnes vs Kuminga debate. 2 months ago this wasn't a close call. It's just interesting to the extent it illustrates how much group think permeates draft discussion among us fans. Everything you read says 1 guy is the better prospect, it's pretty hard not to conclude he's better. Now, a huge swell of information pointing the opposite way and it makes digesting it all a little difficult.

I guess I'm going to just assume we end up with one or the other and hope that guy reaches his absolute ceiling, which for either player would be quite high.

Could see him being there at 16, everyone's big boards from 7-20 are all over the place. It's getting to the point where I think we'd have some pretty great options at 16 and 18 even though I expect we'll move up from at least one of those spots.

Other than Bouknight and Wagner (and don't want Mitchell), I could see scenarios where pretty much any other player in that range falls to us.

I’m not trading up for a C . If all is gone by 16 I will just draft one in the second round.

I might be willing to move up for Sengun but it's pretty unlikely Kai/Garuba/Sengun are all gone at 16.

I'd probably go as high as #9 for Usman. I'd put his bust potential at near 0% and he's criminally underrated on offense. Really knows how to pass (like big time instincts/zero hesitation) and find open space. He and Abrines led Spain in +/- last night at +11 (single game +/- but the tape backed it up especially for Garuba)

Edit: as an addendum, if they took him at #6 I wouldn't be disappointed (but I would hope they would figure out a way to trade back if he's the one they're targeting)

Kind of surprised at the results.

Surprised, would've been down to take him at 18. Must feel good about his chances to be in the lottery next year

This is pretty surprising. He must not have had much interest but lots of people seemed to like him. Hollinger had him at 21 in his draft guide.

Who is your guy to target in a move up with 16,18 and some other asset? (or only 16,36 & Denver 2023 FRP if possible)

I still love Sengun but still a lot of question marks and I like Bouknight fit and potential as a scorer but think Giddey ceiling is so high that if I can only pick one guy, it would be him. Wouldn't be mad if we move up for Wagner either.

Moses Moody for me. I think Bouknight is gone by 8 if we don’t take him at six. A lot of the other guys I like are likely to still be there at 16 like Springer and Garuba. I’m ok trading up for Giddey or Wagner. The guys I’m not in love with are Mitchell, Keon and Kai Jones. Even those guys I’m ok taking if they fall far enough.

Assuming we don’t trade up and no one unexpected falls to us, I’m not enamored with anyone at six, but I’ll be hopeful and open minded. If we could end up with Moody and Springer by some combination of our remaining picks, I’ll be pretty happy even if I’m unsure about who we pick at six.

My realistic "dream'" draft night would be : Barnes or Kuminga at 6 (I don't love Barnes but it's a less risky pick, sometimes I love Kuminga but also have a bad feeling about him being a bust); trading #16, #35 & Denver 2023 to get GIddey and move a small asset to get Sengun. Then would pick Vrenz at 36 so we could have a cool belgian on our roster :D

I think Sengun is getting the hype blast to put him in a position that it likely takes 16 + 18 to secure him. I think he is going to be seen as a less bouncy Clint w/ the potential to shoot a few 3's.

As an outsider, this would be my ideal OKC draft. Lets hope the Barnes to TOR talk isnt fake and that ORL goes need over talent:

6 - Jalen Suggs G

Trade 16 + 18 to CHA for 11

11 - Franz Wagner F

Trade 34 + 36 + DEN 2023 FRP to ATL for 20

20 - Usman Garuba CF

G - Jalen Suggs
G - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
F - Franz Wagner
F - Alejsek Pokusevski
C - Usman Garuba

That looks really, really good. IMO both Wagner and Garuba go higher than these projections but who knows.
