Dirk had way worse of a supporting cast . What dallas player was as good as Middleton or JRue?

Giannis hurt some feelings tonight and destroyed narratives.

Expect this thread to be locked soon like mine was.

The only reason these scared stars get together is because they can't go one on one against a guy like Giannis. They need to stack the chips so unfairly to go at a player like Giannis.

Just when i get on the Giannis is the best in the world bandwagon someone goes to far..

Those scared stars wasnt thinking about Giannis when they teamed up lol. KD didnt look so scared when he almost took him out by himself.

Props to Giannis tho. This series performance proves hes the best in the world imo

reading comprehension dude... I said 'a guy like Giannis'

Just a reminder that Jordan and Lebron won their first championship at age 28.

Giannis is 26.

So arbitrary how people decide one team is a super team and one team isn't. Middleton, Giannis and Holliday are all all-stars. Middleton elevated his game in the playoffs. It's hard not to argue that the game 5 performance isn't indicative of being a super team. Praise Giannis for staying in Milwuakee, but the Super Team dig is silly. 60s Celtics were a super team. 80s Lakers were a super team. 80s Celtics were a super team. 90s Bulls were a super team. 2000s Lakers were a super team.

How about this. Rank all NBA finals teams in the last 40 years. Where do the Suns rank? Giannis ekeed out a ring against historically weak competition. Heat, injured Nets, Hawks and Suns. Giannis played great but let's slow down on the hyperbole. This isn't Dirk vs. LBJ's heat or Wade vs. the Mavs. If Giannis wants real respect he's going to have to do it again.

Lol this is my whole point. Makes durant look even weaker

Durant harden or any of these ring chasing stars will never get full respect after giannis won without a super team

They dont want full respect, that want a ring lol

Our grand conspiracy of manufacturing a 37-year-old to be the best player in the league is ruined!

Say he’s not on a super team yet his team was good enough to win two games without him in the ECF.. not exactly like he played with a bunch of scrubs.

You're 100% right, but hyperbole happens on this board after a championship (or elimination). Let people have their fun.

Remember all the talk how Giannis will join Curry? Those people look real silly right now.

There's gonna be a lot of hot takes, but important to remember that Milwakee is out in the 2nd round if KD wears his correct shoe size.

A ring is a ring, but this doesn't prove or disprove anything related to super teams. Under normal circumstances, super teams will still win the vast majority of rings, and it'd be nice if the NBA did something to limit them.

IMHO its less about a superteam being a superteam and more about allegedly great players running away from a challenge and stracking the deck to win, rather then persevering

It's more about how they abandoned ship and find the easy path instead of fighting through adversity and showing some pride/loyalty.

I mean people wanna see MJ grow and come back to dethrone the Bad Boys instead of just joining them for example.

Vs team with over 70 mil black hole of salary not on the court? Nice try though

Dirk had Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion and Tyson Chandler. They were old but all those guys were better than either Holiday or Middleton at their best.

When comparing Giannis' career so far to Lebron's initial stint in Cleveland the biggest difference I see is how so much more mature Giannis is compared to Lebron at the same stage. Lebron never showed commitment to Cleveland during his first run and acted with a sense of entitlement. Giannis on the other hand since he joined the NBA had to develop his game, prove himself and grow into the leadership role. Giannis is a much better leader than Lebron was at the same stage.
