We're getting into the weeds now. I believe your original point was that stars join up because they are afraid of going one on one with players "like" Giannis. I only responded to say that I dont think KD is scared of going up against anyone one on one... which makes it frustrating when he does join up, because it means we dont get to see him do it... but agree to disagree...

KD's social media behavior tells me everything I need to know about his mentality and insecurities. I don't doubt that he thinks he's the best but he likely worries that if he doesn't win enough no one will look at him as the best which is what he wants. Harden is lazy so I know why he wants to join a super team. Kyrie... well, I don't know if Kyrie even knows why Kyrie does what he does

The most disappoint thing about KD to me is that he has all the talent, skill, and god given abilities to be the greatest ever. If I could describe what I thought the best basketball player looked like and the skills he had, it would be KD nearly to the T. I just wish his career played out differently. He had a shot to go down as a top 5 player of all time. While I view him as top 3 skilled player of all time, I don't think he will be remembered as top 5 all time unless he racks up a ton more rings and leads the way.

How is Harden lazy when the man routinely plays through injuries, adds new moves to his game and plays whatever minutes is required from his team? Harden's Rockets were the only force capable of challenging KD's Warriors because of his talent.

I think some of you just don't like players just because of whatever BS personal ethos and it has nothing to do with basketball.

Again, how does this make other star players look foolish?!?! I don't get it.

Please quote me where I said it makes them look foolish? You can quote this: it makes them look weak.

I wasn't quoting you its the point of this tread I am critical of, that it makes other superstars look pathetic. How so? Giannis winning today did not disprove superteams. In fact, one can argue this championship was weak. I am applauding the bucks win but I don't understand the point of this tread. If he beat the Nets at full strength I would understand but he didn't so how exactly did he make them look weak or pathetic. Again, I applaud the Bucks but I just feel like this tread is just a hot take against superteams.

Ugh, this is the ugly side of fandom. Taking what is and should be an incredible story and achievement for a player and a team and using it as a way to trash the achievements of other players/teams. All the while conveniently forgetting how fortunate you were to even make it out of the second round. Again the Bucks were literally an inch away from going home in the second round. It's not like they dominated the peak Warrior teams. They should absolutely be proud of what they accomplished but to suggest that other championships somehow are less worthy is absurd.

Unfortunately there can’t be. Players have the choice to do whatever they want in FA.

I disagree with the forcing trades, and I hate a player like Kevin Love and Blake Griffin who is clearly tanking, one is always injured in Loves case though I don’t want call out injury, but call out a player clearly not trying his best, his self sabetoge on the team, like his pouty inbound thing, and Griffin who could suddenly dunk when he was on the Nets. I mean, Griffin not dunking on the Pistons for a period, and then able to “dunk” on a better team? I’ll point out those guys as lazy

Preach, I could understand if we were talking about something like Dirk going through the Heatles to win his ring. But if anything this title revealed you probably need a tremendous amount of luck to beat a superteam.

But here's the thing... if players didn't team up, the talent would be more spread out... which would make the road a bit tougher for teams like the Bucks. I wish we got to see Giannis vs KD (with a balanced roster) but we don't get that opportunity. These stars rob us from great battles. I don't want to watch the dream-team roll through a championship. I want a balanced fight. I thoroughly enjoyed this finals run.

He plays a different sport where he doesn't have to run back and forth... He drops into his pocket and passes. He is not required to run. He is not required to play defense. Harden is... but doesn't

And it’s not like Milwaukee is much bigger than Cleveland as a market. Both are in the East. So what was Lebron’s excuse?

Lebron faced healthy teams

LeBron played in the East probably at its weakest point in history...remind me again who was the best player he faced from 2011-2018 in the EC POs...Paul George? DeMar? yawn.

Yeah I don't think there's any solution that could end them completely without the league literally forcing players off of teams or denying certain players the ability to sign with certain teams. That said, if you have a big max contract but smaller cap maybe that'll discourage great players joining up because the pay-cut they'd have to take would be huge. I don't know enough about how the cap and stuff work though so maybe that wouldn't do anything.

I agree with you fully, but that has nothing to do with Giannis making superstars look pathetic which is the point of this tread.

The Nets haven’t been healthy all year, and they weren’t healthy last year either when the Lakers won it all.

The Heat, Hawks, and Suns didn’t have any major injuries, and the Nets were as healthy as they’ve been all season. And Giannis injured his knee.

I understand the comparison to Lebron's first period playing for the Cavs but this is one of the problems with results based arguments, context is completely thrown out of the window. The Cavs front office was (and still mostly is) a complete and utter joke and were completely incapable of putting together a team with decent players.

LeBron has won it with Kyrie and Love at least. They have never been top 10 guys in this league.

On the other hand, the guys like Harden and Durant who team up with every MVP candidate they can find and would never win a chip with 'just' Love/Kyrie or Holiday/Middleton supporting them... Yeah.

Tom Brady is 43 and is fanatical at taking care of his body/working out.

Harden is 31 and was eating at buffets at strip clubs instead of reporting to training camp.
