luck is a factor in all successful endeavors. the bucks FO ineptitude with the bogdan situation notwithstanding, they put in the legwork to support giannis as much as they reasonably could. i'll never forget during KD's FA year the thunder's big move was acquiring randy foye at the trade deadline. the bucks went out and got jrue holiday. i'm real glad it worked out for them. giannis is the modern day shaq, a force of nature on the court. seems like a cool dude as well. middleton is also a unique story. hope bucks fans enjoy.

This title is so much more rewarding then all these fast-friends titles because of their previous failures. It humbled the SOS/MOV crowd. It likely created considerable doubt the entire way through. Breaking through that, in a smaller market, is something that even rival fans of the Bucks should be able to appreciate.

There's also never been a Giannis' like rise to ascension in this league. He literally bulldozed his way to the top of the mountain.

I wanted the Suns to win, but it was well deserved. Congrats Bucks fans. Respect to Giannis for sticking with the goal.

I feel like that’s one thing that’s going to get overlooked when we revisit this championship in a few years.

Injuries are a crazy thing tbh. Certainly some people have genetics that make them less likely to be injured, but some bad looking injuries can end being more mild than injuries that look far worse. Some of it is "luck" in n a sense, but really glad that didn't end up being a serious injury.

lambchop wrote:Giannis is kinda unwatchable to me. But this was just complete dominance. Literally looked like those instagram videos where an NBA prospect goes against kids his age and they all look like they suck. They also looked so helpless against his defense.

In addition, what an amazing team effort by the bucks. Guys did their job when needed, from Tucker to Holiday to Middelton. 7 games series so you dont have to play well every game, just have to win 4.

Congrats Bucks!

It doesn't have to be pretty, just have to get the job done. Love Giannis. Yes, he doesn't have the most esthetically pleasing game, if you asked me to rank prettiest looking games, he would not be up there, there's nothing wrong with that, but it is effective.

Another aspect that was nice about these finals is that it featured different playstyles than the league norm. People constantly complain about so much three point shooting. While these teams both utilize the three, we had a heavy mid-range team in the Suns, and a Bucks team that did a lot of attacking, and for this series a lot of posting up from multiple positions.

Congratulations to the bucks and their fans. What makes this championship even better is the fact they didn't need to play Buddy Ball like LeBron has been doing for years but they drafted two studs, and made some good trades, that led them to a championship.

Probably the best individual game in finals history.
And to think back to how much Giannis struggled offensively (against certain teams in certain situations) in the past playoffs.
Great story to have him resign and get rewarded for it. Just all in all great for the NBA.
