Unfortunately, focusing on a mid-range game makes him a dinosaur.

I'm sure you just watched these finals. And you think the mid range is dead?

Middleton, Paul, and Booker aren't wretched at shooting 3s.

My guess Lakers or Sixers (with or after trades).

Just hopefully gone from San Antonio. Enough is enough. Get Murray and Walker out of there as well please. Sick of them.

Nets prob not, but the Lakers could send Kuz Harrell and a SRP to the Spurs to S&T DeRozan to them. Maybe around 3 yr/70M. Schroder is gone, let DeRozan run the point. I'm not sure if he's the best fit on this team, but it'll definitely be a consideration.

Clippers another team to watch out for, they can give him a similar contract and send Kennard, Rondo and a pick to the Spurs. He'd fit a lot better there.

The lakers and Clippers would have to get below the tax apron to take back a player in a S&T and would then be hard capped for the season.

or any nba finals in the last 6 years? kd kd kd lebron butler ad middleton giannis kawhi booker cp. derozan needs to be a space the floor and hit wide open 3s when he doenst have the ball, and also attempt to defend, but theres absolutely a place on a contender for a guy who can score at an elite level and playmake with the ball like him.

I like the idea of him in Philly, New York or Phoenix. A return to the Raptors would also be nice. Either that or some how reuniting with Lowry elsewhere if he doesn't stay.

I can see the Mavs striking out with Collins and Kawhi (obviously) then panic signing Demar. I wouldn’t hate it, but I’d rather have Oubre for the money

DeMar could be the vet play maker that the Lakers is looking for

I can see him signing on a random team with playoff aspirations like Memphis or New Orleans along with the usual suspects like the Mavs, Knicks and LA teams. The NBA is unpredictable, who would have guessed that Hayward would sign with the Hornets.

Until this past season, his percentages didn’t even support the theory he was a good mid range shooter. He improved his passing with the Spurs but his strength has generally been getting to the rim and drawing fouls.

People underestimate and forget just how often it is for mid-30 ex-stars to take a paycut to join a contender. Lowry, Paul, Derozen are all very likely to take the MLE to sign with a BRK, LAL or even MIL. Remember Artest in 2010? He was only 30 and took a 4/24 deal to sign with LAL when HOU offered him 3/40. You can say the same about Steve Nash in 2012 - TOR offered him 2/40 and he took a sign-and-trade to LAL for 3/24.

I can easily see Derozen taking a 2/20 to sign with his hometown love, LAL.

He has an elite ability to get buckets and free throws like Kawhi; seems like he should have achieved won more than he has.

And they are also just way better mid-range shooters too (at least in the playoffs). Top mid range guys in the playoffs usually shoot around 47% or higher (ex. CP3, Booker, Kawhi). Demar shoots around 37%.

He does fine in the regular season but craters in the playoffs.

Guess I'm not sure what the Spurs are trying to accomplish. I guess they'd be better off blowing it up and trying to get some premium draft picks for 2 or 3 years.

He’s not even remotely close to Kawhi’s level on either end of the floor, so playing for a bunch of 50 win teams in Toronto seems like he overachieved to me. But Lowry deserves most of the credit for that. He’s never been one of the top 30 players in the league.

Who are the Nets signing and trading? I don't think it's even possible for them to pull that off. Lakers might be able to pull it off with Schroder.
