I am looking forward to seeing him paired with Al Horford. How about this lineup: Pritchard, Fournier, Jaylen, Grant, and Al? Seems pretty balanced to me.

What about Smart Brown Tatum GWill Horford
Add a few solid rotation shooters, rebounders and defenders
Along with Pritch Nesmith Langford Timelord Moses
That's talent and depth.
That's the Way of the World

Grant needs to get back to excellent shape and stop fouling like a madman. If he can do those 2 things, he’s a good bench player. The things he does well are valuable and easy to fit it, just needs to stop self sabotaging.

Looks like Grant did worse as a starter than reserve last year:

-10.6 +/- starting vs. -0.3 +/- off the bench.

Come on, guys. If Grant is still in the rotation next year, we are doomed. The kid is not NBA material. We should include him in a trade.

Grant should have twinned himself with Semi for his gym workouts last year. Unfortunately it doesn't appear as if he did. He seemed instead to have gained weight and lost conditioning from when he was drafted.

Show me a video where it appears that Grant has gained weight, and is out of shape. I've looked at a lot of video on Grant, and I just don't see it. Don't see it in this highlight video, that's for sure.

he's got a 6'10" wingspan. Not bad for a PF..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I'm guessing this means:

a) Ojeleye is officially gone
b) Hayes and Parker might compete in training camp for a roster spot. 1 of them gets a spot at the end of the bench (with potential to work their way into the rotation with good play) and the other one gets cut at the end of training camp

Or, maybe Hayes is a guy that we just give him a 2-way contract and he goes to the g-league team and can get called up if he plays well enough/we need him because of injuries.

Maybe Hayes gets 1 of our 2-way contracts, and the guy we pick with 45th pick gets the other.

We'll see..

He's 6'8" with a 7'3" wingspan. 26 yrs old. Could be a smart move. After all, players typically peak at around age 26 or 27. So instead of drafting a 19 yr old kid and having to spend 7 or 8 yrs developing him and waiting until he peaks, why not just pick a guy up who's 26 and has already been spending the last 8 yrs developing his game overseas so you're grabbing a guy who is about to peak now?

Ok, watching more of the video and liking what I see. Here's his stats:
https://basketball.realgm.com/player/Nigel-Hayes/International/24673/2021/By_Season/Per_36/0

The stats that jump out are how efficient of a scorer he is:
-TS% of 61.9% which is really freaking good
-44.2% from 3
-78% FT

Also, not a ball dominant type of guy at all, only 18.6% usage rate. For such a low usage rate, he had a solid assist rate of 9.6%.

Ok, they might sign him to a 2-way but the more I watch the video and look at his stats I'm thinking this could be a really solid contributor off the bench who we will want on the C's roster and not on the g-league team..

This dude could turn out to be a really solid, underrated pickup by our staff..

He's been an absolute rock for us (Zalgiris) all season long. Our most impactful player by far (even if the stats don't show that), mostly for his defensive versatility and IQ. Also shown a tremendous improvement with his long-range shooting.

If we bring in this Nigel Hayes dude, Cs need to trade for Rozier just so we can have a cook-off. Then sign Baynes as judge.

Look at this main college pic, especially: https://www.google.com/search?q=grant+williams+draft&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS934US934&sxsrf=ALeKk03EFNyRh3r825zrXeX9s0nw4TGt2A:1627131692571&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=aTwsYdcUf53s1M%252CLs4_m-gUMAvISM%252C%252Fg%252F11ggl5w352&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kThc3cewWiCxMRNMFLAqXWyiRs6Jw&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiu6Kb04fvxAhWUZM0KHZjzAAEQ_B16BAgKEAE&biw=1208&bih=560#imgrc=aTwsYdcUf53s1M

I didn't see that Grant Williams on the floor in one game for the C's this past season.

Really? He went from having cut arms in college to dimpled arms in the pros. Here he was as a rook:

Here he was coming into this past season:

Ringer on Olynyk here: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2021/7/26/22593381/nba-free-agency-preview-trade-rumors

In the event you sort of lost touch with Olynyk after he got shipped to Houston in the Heat’s optimistic but ill-fated gamble on Victor Oladipo—understandable, because the Rockets were a pretty tough watch down the stretch—the former Celtic took advantage of his opportunity to sop up minutes and touches, averaging 19 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 31.1 minutes per game while shooting 64 percent on 2-pointers, 39 percent from distance, and 84 percent at the charity stripe. He’s unlikely to replicate that level of production in a more circumscribed role on a team with playoff aspirations, but he’s proved over the years a fairly steady and versatile hand, capable of playing the 4 or the 5 as matchups dictate, serving as a floor-spacing pick-and-pop threat or an offensive hub at the elbows. He also brings a ton of playoff experience from his stints in Boston and Miami, which could make him an attractive option for teams looking to bolster their frontcourt rotations with an eye on long postseason runs.

And Robin Lopez:

RoLo’s a rock-solid option for teams seeking interior stability at the center spot. He won’t space the floor or dance with fleet-footed guards on switches, but he can eat up a ton of space in the paint in drop coverage and make life difficult on drivers at the rim—72 players defended at least 200 shots in the restricted area last season, and Lopez ranked seventh in defensive field goal percentage allowed.

He routinely ranks among the league leaders in screen assists and box outs, springing his teammates for open looks and creating the space for them to grab the ball off the rim and trigger a fast break. Last season, he broke out a sweeping hook shot that proved surprisingly devastating; he led all players to log at least 100 post-ups in points scored per possession on those plays, shooting a remarkable 67.5 percent on those loping forays from the block into the lane to arc one over the outstretched arms of a powerless defender. He plays hard, he doesn’t demand much, and he is by all accounts a great vibes guy—well, provided you’re not his twin brother or a mascot, I guess—all of which would seem to make him a hand-in-glove fit for a drop-style team in need of someone who can be extremely big and efficient in limited opportunities.
