Jonathan Isaac Shares an "Update" on his Rehab (Robbins)

Post#1 » by Knightro » Thu Jul 22, 2021 3:07 pm

Read on Twitter

Not much substance to this one. Isaac has been shooting jumpers for “quite a bit of time” and recently started doing 1 on 1 on-court work with coach Mosley.

Been wanting to ask this as well. I like Josh and would really like to see his stuff but is getting past the paywall actually worth it?

Personally... I am a huge fan of all sports, so I get a ton of use out of The Athletic because one subscription literally gets you access to everything they offer.

I would not recommend buying it if your sole purpose would be to get news and information from Josh Robbins about the Magic.

I get good Magic and Bucs content. Some college (gator) stuff.
Besides Josh, Hollinger contributes to magic stuff, and Sam Vecennie (SP) does a good job w the draft.

The intro offer is pretty good deal.

Yeah, it's just a **** thing to kinda say when it's as random as an ACL. He then reinjured the same one. Some people like Klay are ironmen until injuries - ACL then Achilles. Even a guy like Cousins early on. Curry had ankle injuries early like Isaac, then played a lot of games, then missed a season due to a freak hand injury. Let's just hope no more big injuries for Isaac.

I recommend it, even other teams content and special stories. Robbins did a wonderful job with these draft pieces where he collaborates with Houston and Detroit Beat writers about draft lottery and trade scenarios from all points of view just to give you both an example.

Frank Gore is the iron man model after having 2 ACL injuries at Miami in back to back seasons, then having a super long successful NFL career.

cant really compare Curry to Isaac. Curry played 80, 74, 26, and 78 games his first 4 years. Isaac played 27, 75, 34 and 0 his first 4 years.

Ilgauskas’ career was over at Isaac’s age… until it wasn’t.

These just don’t seem to be chronic things as in the cases of Ilgauskas, Bowie, or Sampson, so I’m not overly concerned at this point. I thought it was an easy decision to bring him back and the contract is fine.

I’m a big fan of him, so I won’t give up on his career until some point after the eulogy.

We all know Isaac has missed a lot of games and it has slowed down his development. We still have to try and be optimistic that he can turn a corner and stay on the court. This franchise has nothing but time right now. Isaac isn't a player you just give up on.

i agree its not a chronic thing, which is good on its own. What scares me is that he keeps getting injured. makes him seem very frail overall vs just 1 issue that could possibly be fixed.

The ankle at the beginning of his career was one thing, but do would we have the same feelings if they (The Magic/Isaac) would have had surgery after the injury against the Wizards or just held him out of the bubble? Did that injury go from half of a year to a year and a half unnecessarily? I don't recall if the two injuries were related at all other than being the same knee.

ACL injuries are fluky at times so I wouldn't say those are any indication of frailty.

Unless Isaac has some leg structure like Greg Oden then I'm not that worried about it.

ACL happens. It is what it is. He will come back.
