Oh and Embiid has a short window.

Look how much his durability and athleticism is declining. It pains me when he tries to dunk it emphaticly, falls short and grabs his knee

When Sixers drafted Embiid.

Their biggest mistake was trying to win the thing organically.
They should have traded the Ben for top tier stars.
Top 3 in 2017 for top tier stars.

There’s no such thing as a 10 year plan with Embiid.

Bigs usually aren’t durable and its much worse with him.

Win a championship. Dont look back at the guys you traded and then you rebuild from scratch once its over.

That’s really how you play your cards when you were dealt with Embiid.

He’s entered the post-season or become injured during the post-season the last 3 years. He’s only 27. Yet we’re projecting him to be a “post-prime Duncan”, a player with one of the best longevities ever? Yea, not buying it.

Age is just a number.

His body is not 27, its more like 37.

Look at Greg Oden. I followed Oden back then because im that sucker who keeps drafting him in the lottery.

Or look at Bynum.

Im just basing my view on what ive seen in the last 3-4 seasons. And until this view is proven wrong, then it should stand. Atleast for me

Ef his prime years, there's nothing we can do now about the fact that we whiffed on Fultz in 2017, that Brett Brown ran draft night like a clown in 2018, and that Brand traded up for a defensive specialist in 2019. All we can do is correct the mistakes going forward. We landed a creator in 2020. We're trading for a stud creator we should have traded up a few more spots for in 2019. And we'll draft another one in 2021. The concept will sell itself once all these studs get on the floor with Embiid.

So ride him until the wheels fall off and make sure we have a young creation core to bring us into the next generation of the franchise. The plan shouldn't change.

In the future, won't it be easier to build a contender when you have your creators in place first?

It's easy to find a defensive big to hold it down after the fact.

I see what you mean and I expect us to do the same. And I think you’re idea is for us to lucked ourselves and getting a Jamal Murray or Mitchell with a low first round pick.

Im not saying its impossible but tough position bro.

Yup. Thats what i was pointing out also. Specially now that it seems like your “secret formula” is out and everyone has a creator on top of their wishlist.

Like if Murray or Mitchell, as prospects, were on this year’s draft, they’d likely be a top 3-5 pick.

This is kind of why I think Morey plans to trade his 28th because its very doubtful that guys like Tre Mann would be available IMO.

Speaking of the devil, it looks like Beal is finally considering a trade request. After Dame, he has to be the top target. I think because of his age, there might be a little more competition for him despite being an inferior player to Dame.

It's a miracle that guys like Tre Mann and Sharife Cooper could be available in the 20s. Morey should be looking to trade up to get those guys, not trading the pick altogether.

I think that trade is fantastic and would make us title favorite next year. I do think David Griffin would ask for more draft capital to part with Ingram. I have no problem offering him #28.

I agree New Orleans would want more. If they will switch Curry to Hill and Milton… make it 28 and a lightly protected 2023 1st.

I'm not really worried about the least valuable position in the sport. All you need is someone that can play defensively and rebound.

Problem is I can't think of many, if we go too small teams like the Bucks and Lakers will kill us with size
