That move by NYK today was a sleeper. They are now major players in free agency with Booker already on board. Watch out for them.

NYK are in a great position with Book and Vuce under contract next year. They could scoop up some great complimentary players next FA to build around Book + Vuce while other teams try to resign their own stars, if they spend a lot of money on free agents this year that strategy goes out the window though.

This is probably the free agency where teams are better off holding on to their cap space so I definitely understand LAC bowing out.

We’ll see what their strategy is. They might look to secure a few Eddy Curry’s this off-season.

Yup, off last year’s experience if you spread your money right you can walk away with some good Eddy Curry’s… Jeremiah Grant $65, Terry Rozier $58, Lowry $85, Draymond $80 and Dinwiddie $56.. It’s just about not signing for more than 10% of the cap that could ruin your cap flexibility next season IMO

Some guys are worth the money, but you gotta know what you want and make a strong pitch early. Especially if you covet a bird right cat. I thought coming out the gate with a $395/4 NTC would get it done for Booker, but then I ended up wasting mad time with the bidding wars. Gotta come out the gate strong, know your limit and stick to it. If it gets out of hand, move on early.

After having some PMs for some past GM's sit in my outbox for weeks, the fact that he at least opens the PM fairly quickly before choosing not to answer is fine with me. At least, after a few hours pass after it disappeared from my outbox, I know it's a "Hell no!" and move on
