If Bouknight is on the board you take him. Most offensively talented player in the draft. Had no space in college and played hurt. His offensive instincts are phenomenal. Perfect combo of NY street toughness, competitiveness and finesse. Special player.

That video of Brandon is amazing. Posted it on the draft forum too, but Giddey kept his composure incredibly well.

I'm in on Bouknight looks like a hard worker. Interview is less than inspiring though. Could mean nothing (probably means nothing). Seems sort immature. Interview with him starts at 4:07.

It's only an overpay if he's not good. Similarly no one will remember that we got screwed in the lottery if Bouknight, Kuminga or whoever becomes an allstar. We've all had to much downtime to analyze the presumed guarantees of the top 4-5 guys. Cunningham would be really good wherever he gets drafted. However there are other guys that likely don't become stars if they go to the bad organizations.

yeah I'm only worried to give up the LAC 2022 FRP then it becomes a top 4 pick.
I don't mind giving up Dort but think it might have a huge impact on Shai...

I like his profile and his name . And for a team that plans for the long term with a bunch of picks in this draft with the ability to move around I just thought he would make a nice player to develop.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Btw Kai Jones named SGA & Lamelo as guys that would make him better. I doubt he would say those names if the Hornets/Thunder didn't want him so the odds of us drafting Kai are a bit higher right now I guess (probably not since we will draft Mobley but might be our back up plan)

What did you see in the interview that makes you think he seems immature? I wouldn't say he's overly eloquent with his words but he seemed fine to me.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft Thread
I thought his description of how he began playing made him sound immature. Even bordering on dumb to be blunt. Ineloquent would also be a good way of describing it.ThunderBolt wrote:Old Man Game wrote:I'm in on Bouknight looks like a hard worker. Interview is less than inspiring though. Mostly stupid/irrational reasons but I think he's the perfect fit for our team and will need at least 2-3 years before reaching a good level to contend while Cleveland might be willing to accelerate their rebuild. I also don't like a Allen/Mobley fit even if most disagree and I may be wrong.
Cleveland trading Sexton for a good player and swap #3 for #6 to grap a wing that they could use + 3-4 FRPs to surround their team makes total sense for them (even if drafting Mobley and see how it works with Garland is pretty good too).
Just think Cleveland is the only team that could make a trade with us and Presti has enough picks to make it happen if he believes Mobley is worth it.
PS : don't get me wrong I still think the likely scenario is that we pick Bouknight/Kuminga/Barnes at 6 but if we can make something happen, a trade with Cleveland for Mobley is by far the one that makes the most sense.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft Thread
No chance at Houston. They have A LOT of picks and badly need a great prospect and won't give up Green for some years of flexibilty back (their future picks).
What would be your best offer to Cleveland for 3?

Re: 2021 NBA Draft Thread
"Bouknight has helped himself as much as any prospect in the pre-draft process, shooting the lights out at his pro day in Chicago, measuring well, and proceeding to continue his strong momentum in private workouts. The Thunder have long been high on Bouknight, going as far as to inquire about the possibility of him entering last year's draft, something he elected against. Every NBA team is looking for the type of versatile scoring backcourt player Bouknight's ceiling suggests he can become if he reaches his full potential, and his fit alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander appears to be strong.
Jonathan Kuminga also is a strong candidate here, and the Thunder have reportedly visited him twice in Miami to watch him work out and conduct a battery of testing. It is believed that the Thunder have been active in conversations looking to potentially move up in the draft, with Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley rumored to be the prospects they are highest on. OKC has significant ammunition to try and get virtually anywhere it wants -- the question is whether the Thunder will be willing to pay a sky-high asking price to get into the top-3."
No real intel at 16/18 where he has us taking Keon and Garuba, then Josh Christopher and BJ Boston at 34/36.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Givony is dropping all sorts of rumors right now. The one directly tied to us is linked above.
Houston is apparently being really aggressive with trying to trade into the lottery with their picks in the 20s but having no luck so far. The Rockets also have been 'stonewalled' by Mobley and Suggs trying to get them in for workouts, which is real interesting.
Memphis is talking to New Orleans about taking on Bledsoe in order to move up from 17 to 10, wonder if that's being leaked to pressure us to use 16 in order to do the same deal.
Private workouts are having much more of an impact this draft cycle since teams weren't able to go see every prospect in person due to the pandemic. Lots of movement in recent weeks on teams boards.
