There might be like two posters who outright said either "I want Oubre" or "I'd be good with Oubre"

The rest of it is "Oubre has been linked to the Knicks, why? Is it Oubre talking himself up? What would he bring to the Knicks and why would they even consider it?"

And within that, there's a lot of "Don't see the fit, he'd have to come off the bench because of fit, he'd impact the ability for large salary players this year (the Lillard/Beal/Kawhi scenarios) and into 2022 (The Beal and LaVine etc scenarios)"

So, not sure where you get "why u guys want Oubre" from.

There is no scenario that our picks bring in anything worth the haul. Not without attaching players with any value. So... catch 22 it is. We are better off trading Randle than anything else. Stay young and live with the results for a couple more years. We aren't getting Beal/Lillard/Lavine etc. The playoff push this year was the worst case scenario...no matter how much fun we had rooting for wins.

Worse case bring back Rose, draft a guard, and hope Luca can fill in Paytons minutes. Although with perry coming back you never know with Elf.

I doubt this is the reason for the chatter, but if the Knicks were to put RJ into a trade, Oubre basically replaces (actually upgrades) what RJ is capable of NOW.

The downsides are that RJ may\probably will exceed what Oubre is doing now, as RJ is just starting year 3, while Oubre is starting, what, year 7? And the fact that RJ is making roughly 8 million for another year or two, while Oubre would be double that, if not a little more.
So, nothing I'm advocating, but interesting.

Also, in those interviews, the way the Knicks played defense and their game plan in general made a positive impression on Oubre - just pointing that out. His interest seems genuine.

Oubre is way more athletic then RJ and doesn't get easily blocked like RJ but RJ is a better corner shooter.

He is, everything else is pretty similar to me though. If anything RJ is actually better than Jaylen was at age 20.
