We want a star to choose us in FA; not trade for one and deplete assets. It is okay to trade assets the way the Nets did once they had their stars for a Harden. Let's not repeat Melo again and have the star come via FA. Hopefully Butler is the first and wants to rejoin with Thibs.

Acquiring the superstars is the main model of how to win in the NBA now. Some just don't want to understand this. The homegrown way is more difficult to pull off. This is the Knicks plan A whether you like it or not. Sure if FA had enough superstars in it you could do this ONLY via FA but less and less make it to FA now.

Tell me the last superteam that was traded for. The way superteams are built is through free agency or homegrown, now if we already had 2, then we could trade for the third, but not before. Otherwie you're just wasting your time on a second round team.

Beal won’t make it to FA if he gets traded

If The Bulls stay bad, Lavine also will be traded. We would have to root for Butler, Durant, Harden or Irving to decide to change teams.

1) Beale was never waiting til free agency to make up his mind;

2) Bulls offer Lavine the max no matter how bad they are. He’s young and franchise FA talent doesn’t come around often in Chicago.

I was holding out hope until I realized that even a woebegone franchise like the Cavs doesn't even want to make a trade with the Knicks.

I figured at the end of the day, OKC will make a half dozen trades by themselves, Knicks 0.

i know everybody is like "they're not gonna do it" but if it looks like they're striking out for the next 2 summers, they really need to think about trading randle and getting back in the lottery. and yeah, they can fail there too, but how else are they gonna get players ?

I would not be mad at Randle Mitch for Wiggins, Wiseman, 7, 13 (move Wiggins somewhere else obviously)
