Can Murphy III stretch 4 it?

Acquiring the superstars is the main model of how to win in the NBA now. Some just don't want to understand this. The homegrown way is more difficult to pull off. This is the Knicks plan A whether you like it or not. Sure if FA had enough superstars in it you could do this ONLY via FA but less and less make it to FA now.

Tell me the last superteam that was traded for. The way superteams are built is through free agency or homegrown, now if we already had 2, then we could trade for the third, but not before. Otherwie you're just wasting your time on a second round team.

It's going to be pretty humorous on here in 3 days when the Knicks don't get d*ck done in trades and don't draft anyone good.

I'm already setting up myself for that just in case; can never have too much cushion.

I'll be here for all the handwringing when the Knicks draft Isiah Jackson and some wing no one is talking about, trade 32 for future 2nd rounders and don't execute any trades.

If The Bulls stay bad, Lavine also will be traded. We would have to root for Butler, Durant, Harden or Irving to decide to change teams.

1) Beale was never waiting til free agency to make up his mind;

2) Bulls offer Lavine the max no matter how bad they are. He’s young and franchise FA talent doesn’t come around often in Chicago.

Despite the army of Knick fans who seem to think we’ll simply have our choice between Lavine or Beale next summer, neither player is likely to be available.

Don't believe that with absolute conviction. These top tier players determine where they want to go, i.e. AD, Harden etc.
If Lavene says I'm not signing with anyone but the Knicks, the Bulls will have to negotiate with WWW and Rose and that's no easy task.

Even Magic Johnson has confirmed that the Knicks are in line for a superstar real soon. That's the buzz in the locker rooms, not speculation but real talk from agents etc.

Knicks aren't getting either guy. Bradley Beal wants to go to a real contender. LaVine - who knows, but since it's the Knicks and good things of magnitude never happen, the answer is also no.

If you were going to tell me how the Knicks maxed out Dennis Schroeder, then that I could believe.

My thoughts exactly. But I didn’t want to read this as my kid is screaming in the morning :D

My little sliver of hope is gone with the brutal reality of your post.

it doesn't seem likely. beal is gonna go to a contender and lavine is gonna stay. losing like that in the 1st round has it's consequences. nobody looks at new york as a place that they can win right now.

I was holding out hope until I realized that even a woebegone franchise like the Cavs doesn't even want to make a trade with the Knicks.

I figured at the end of the day, OKC will make a half dozen trades by themselves, Knicks 0.

Knicks can't even offer enough money to make DeMarr DeRozan come over and get in RJ & Randle's way.

Let me save everyone time. Get the list of UFAs. Find the most mediocre guys possible.

4 guys in that pool will be Knicks.

That's the offseason.

i know everybody is like "they're not gonna do it" but if it looks like they're striking out for the next 2 summers, they really need to think about trading randle and getting back in the lottery. and yeah, they can fail there too, but how else are they gonna get players ?

3 Days until the "Wait for 2022!" drumbeat starts, getting louder everyday, for 364 days.

Then, crushing silence again.

Wait, what's that noise?

The drumbeats, starting again.

This is offseason where the fanbase turns on Leon Rose etc.
Obviously it'll take another 1.5 years for the pitchforks to really come out and demand Thibs as a sacrifice, but it's coming.
Dolan will get antsy because no STARZ!
He'll get wind of all the fans whining.

Leon and WWW sent packing, significantly wealthier, reputations slightly damaged, as is the Knick way.

I would not be mad at Randle Mitch for Wiggins, Wiseman, 7, 13 (move Wiggins somewhere else obviously)
