Mets To Inquire With Nationals About Max Scherzer

The New York Mets will call the Washington Nationals to inquire about Max Scherzer before this week\'s trade deadline, according to a report.

It remains to be seen if the Nationals about be willing to trade Scherzer within the National League East.

Scherzer was scratched from his last scheduled start due to triceps discomfort, but an MRI showed no structural damage.

This is crazy. It's simply absurd that the Mets need to do this. I'm not saying they shouldn't, but if they had Thor, Cassaco & the other pitchers healthy, they'd already have the best rotation in baseball by a lot. Adding Scherzer would be nice, but he's coming off an injury. I'd still rather add a big bat, if possible.
