I'm trying to think what team that Lowry is willing to go to that will give him 30 mill? Heat had already talked to Lowry during the trade negotiation. I think the Heat offer is pretty much on the table. I am not sure they will increase their deal based on who they are competing against

New Orleans, doesn't mean he'll take more money to go there but if it happened it probably would be a sign and trade with a few different trade package options.

I would double dog dare Lowry to sign with Pelicans

He is all about the money, he won a ring and now he wants more money. I don’t blame him. Might take a 3 years 72 mil contract to get him to sign here if other teams are offering 30 a year. Money talks.

Don't do it. I rather blow it up then lie to myself that adding Lowry in this awful deal makes us a contender.

Its far from enough but our cap will be dead for years.

20-25 is where I'm negotiating with Lowry. If it goes beyond that then move on.

Rather keep our cap clean and waste a year then givie Lowry+Robinson 170Mil in the next 4 years.

tank the year, retool around Bam\jimmy next year.

At that point We are playing with fire and has history has repeatedly shown us Butler can demand and force a trade. Sometimes you have to look at the big picture. Butler is Butler.

Right, Miami isn't getting them and the 5 reasons podcasts indicate that but if they're moved it drops the amount of teams who Miami has to compete against for certain players which could drive down the price. If either aren't moved it may make the players Miami "could" get much more difficult, basically just less options for Miami moving forward.

So even if Miami doesn't have the assets for Dame or Beal, them being traded for could effect who they may be able to get moving forward.

On the flip side, striking now while other teams are waiting on and reserving their assets for Dame/Beal could also play to our advantage. Kinda like how we passed on a bunch of options waiting for Giannis to make a decision

That's my biggest fear in this offseason. Stay mediocre without assests and a dead cap space. Why in the world Riley would pull something like this? But he did this before with bad signing, valuing players way higher then their true value. Like you said, wait a year or blow it up. Don't make moves just to make them. :banghead:

just read that you can, in fact, sign and trade players in a package deal.

Something like Robinson/Dragic/KZ for Ingram?

And then Herro/Precious/Iguodala for Sexton/Love?

Sexton
Jimmy
Ingram
Bam
Love

Lakers and Sixers dont have the cap space to offer Lowry 3 for 90. So im staying around 25 preferably for two years or an option on the 3rd year.

https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article253028708.html

Days before the start of NBA free agency, the Miami Heat remains very interested in impending free agent point guard Kyle Lowry but faces increasing competition.

According to a source in touch with the player, Lowry would like a guaranteed three-year deal, averaging $30 million per season.

Even if he doesn’t get $30 million, he’s very likely to command an offer topping $25 million.

The Heat, New Orleans, Dallas, the Knicks, Philadelphia and the Lakers are all believed to have interest. And Lowry would have interest in each of those teams at the right dollar amount, according to a source briefed on his plans.

Barry Jackson also heard that Lowry prefers a three year deal. So I guess Adam's info is legit. There is some other stuff in here as well, good read.

Maybe teams are asking a high price right now in hopes someone will meet those prices, there's really no downside in holding onto your players until the draft. Also during the draft there might be a player falling it could make a package with a pick that could get that player much more intriguing.

Although the team could be proactive with Lowry in a trade come free agency, I think Miami will wait on any moves not named Lowry(they may not get him) and hope the price drops on some very useful players.

Just looking at the summer, there's a lot of names that could be changing teams... Dame, Beal, Lowry, Ball, BI, Siakam, Kawhi, Simmons, Sexton, DeRozan, Brogdon, Hield, Porzingis, H.Barnes, Schröder, Dinwiddie, CJ, Graham, C.Zeller, Oubre Jr., and Miami's Robinson, Nunn and Herro. There could also over-priced players you could get for much cheaper like K.Love, Wall, Westbrook, Walker, and Wiggins.

And who knows about Drummond, nobody has his Bird rights so he can't be S&T so his market will be limited.
